"Tea horse Flower Street" is an important part of the upgrading and transformation of Xishan Scenic Area. It is also a necessary hardware support for the application of national 5A scenic area. It is one of 200 key projects and 60 key industrial projects in Kunming.

Chamahua street is located at the entrance of Xishan Scenic Area, with a planned land area of 24.28 Mu and a total construction area of 13856.2 square meters. After the completion of the tea horse flower street, the boutique tourism, commercial, cultural shopping street is integrated. With the layout of a pedestrian street main axis, two lanes, three corridors and two squares, the 14 two to four storey old Kunming buildings with the style of the Republic of China are integrated into the modern commercial elements.

The tea horse flower street is positioned as the characteristic street of boutique tourism, commerce and cultural shopping in Xishan Scenic Area. It was designed by Zhai Hui, a famous local designer in Yunnan, President of planning and Design Institute of Kunming University of science and technology, and chief planning designer of Shuhe ancient town. The design details were revised several times and finally finalized. Through the layout of one street, two lanes and three squares, 14 old Kunming buildings with two to four floors in the style of the Republic of China are integrated into the development project of modern commercial elements. The project aims to make up for the basic tourism supporting services of Xishan Scenic Spot, meet the urban leisure consumption, create a unique urban reception hall and Xishan business card in Kunming, and form an experiential Pedestrian Commercial Block dominated by catering, leisure, travel shopping, culture and art, and self-cultivation, so that tourists and citizens can feel the unique commercial customs compatible with Yunnan traditional culture and modern culture Street. After the completion of the project, it will become the only channel for tourists to enter the scenic area.

Xishan has always been a scenic spot that Kunming people are proud of. Its rich history and dense vegetation make it a good place for weekend leisure. The current situation of chamahua Street project site is the main entrance and parking lot of Xishan Scenic Spot, with mixed traffic of people and vehicles: the site is adjacent to Bihai road in the north, Longmen road in the south, Jingqian parking garage in the west, and Xishan entrance archway in the East. In addition to the flat parking place at the entrance, the rest of the site has a large slope, which is 15-20 meters different from Bihai road in the north It is about 5 meters away from Longmen road in the south, and the site engineering quantity is large.

Taking into account the actual situation of traffic and order, the tea horse flower street project selects and arranges the format with the supporting services in the front area of the scenic spot, and provides the maximum use area for the public (catering, shops, public toilets, landscape leisure, etc.). The whole area is located at the main entrance of Xishan Scenic Area. Due to the current site elevation difference and traffic conditions, the site is divided into East and west parts. The planning combines the current site elevation difference and traffic conditions to plan the East plot as restaurants and artists' studios, as well as businesses along the street. According to the new planning, all the vehicle access to the scenic area will consider Longmen Road, and all the interior of the site will consider pedestrian access In addition to the planned parking lot in the west of the site, the parking of chamahua Street project will be placed on the second underground floor by using the height difference of the site, so as to realize the diversion of people and vehicles.

In addition, the terminal station of Metro Line 3, which has been under construction, is just connected with the project of chamahua street, which is also one of the few direct routes to scenic spots in China. The relevant person in charge said that if the project goes smoothly, after 2017, foreign tourists can directly take the subway from the airport to the gate of Xishan Scenic Spot, and enter the scenic spot through the completed tea horse flower street.
