Historical evolution

The park was built at the end of the 19th century. It used to be located on the edge of the city. It is a good place for residents to have a picnic on holiday.

In 1869, the committee responsible for the study of "improving Macao's environment" proposed "purifying the environment" and promoting the planting of trees and shrubs. At that time, tomda Rosa, the governor in office, carried out plans to green Macao and open up parks, among which screw Hill Park was one. With the continuous development of society, the park began to become dilapidated.

In 1986, it was renovated and beautified and opened to the public.

Screw mountain

Although the area of luoxishan is small, because it has been built for more than 100 years, there are many old trees in the garden. When you enter the main entrance, the first thing you see is several huge and dense Erythrina trees. One of them is 103 cm in diameter at breast height, which is one of the two largest Erythrina trees in Macao Peninsula. At the end of winter, spring and summer, bright red butterfly flowers fill the trees, adding color to the park. On the left side of the main entrance platform, there is an old tree, Hainan Putao. Along the road, around the park, on the roadside and on the hillside, there are old trees and banyan trees. Inside the back door of the park, there is an old camphor tree with a diameter of 90 cm at breast height, which has been listed in the list of ancient trees in Macao.

In addition, there are many native tree species, such as celadon, Babao tree, Shanpu peach, Buzha leaf and the rare tamarind tree. Among them, there are several pseudopingpo trees growing on both sides of the open space behind the original restaurant. During the fruiting period of summer and autumn every year, the bright red fruit shell is decorated with black seeds and hung all over the treetops, forming the unique landscape of luoxishan.

A variety of trees completely cover the park under the shade of green trees and completely separate it from the outside, making the whole park particularly quiet. Walking along the winding paths in the garden, interspersed in the shade of green trees, in the quiet environment, unrestrained, enjoy the soft breeze brought by summer, is really a pleasure.

Lookout tower

In the center of the park, there is a screw shaped man-made observation platform. Visitors can follow the spiral path to the top. This is the most distinctive feature of the park, and the name of the park comes from it. At the beginning of its construction, the former "black sand ring Beach" can be seen from the top of luotou mountain,
