In February 1937, it was built by bhiksuni from Shun and congkuan, covering an area of one mu. At that time, there were only the main hall, two side rooms and three cabins. Therefore, the history of the nunnery in Huinan town is relatively short, commonly known as "new nunnery".
In December 1987, it was reopened with the approval of Nanhui County People's government. On February 19, 1990, master Zhenchan of Shanghai Buddhist Association came to the nunnery to preside over the opening ceremony. Nun bhikhuni was the abbot. In recent years, we have successively built Temple houses, mountain gates, and new squatter houses, Zhaitang and other living houses. At present, there are three Buddhas, Manjusri, Puxian, Guanyin, dizang, Maitreya, Weituo and other Bodhisattvas in the hall.
However, Qingliang nunnery is still very small. Everything in it is in a three story building complex. It has a reasonable layout.
After the death of Nun congkuan in 1991, her disciple, nun Xinle, took charge of the prison. On September 23, 2003, master Miao Jue, vice president of the district Buddhist Association, concurrently served as the supervisor of Qingliang nunnery. At present, there are ten bhiksunis. Covering an area of 2500 square meters, the "three Buddha" in the Mahavira hall is resplendent and grand.

Qingliang nunnery: Historical Evolution
Located 18 kilometers west of Qi County, in the valley, it belongs to Guling mountain scenic area. In the Shang Dynasty, it was designated as a summer palace by King Zhou. It is popular among the people that a royal aunt of the Qing Dynasty devoted herself to practice here, and there was a stele named Hongen stele. There are the stone statue of Confucius storing feet, the treasure gate of Jianshan mountain, the three immortals cave, the ancient stone mill, the stone scene of carp jumping from the dragon's gate, the icicle, the stalactite scene, and the famous local snack Lake noodles. It can be said that it is an excellent tourist attraction for self-cultivation, keeping away from the noise and seeking nature. Qingliang nunnery, also known as Nianzigou, has an ancient stone mill of more than 1000 years. It is said that Zhao Gongming and his three younger sisters Qiongxiao, Yunxiao and Bixiao practiced here at the end of the Shang Dynasty. Later, the four brothers and sisters helped King Zhou resist the army of King Wu of Zhou. After their death, Zhao Gongming and his three younger sisters were granted the titles of God of wealth and the three girls of pit by Jiang Ziya. The God of kengsan girl is mainly in charge of human fertility. Later, someone built Guanyin hall here. As a result of the repeated invasions of the local tyrants, it became a barren mountain in the late Ming Dynasty. Master haikuo went to the mountain to practice in the early years of Kangxi. He made friends everywhere and created "Qingliang nunnery". At that time, there was 74 mu of temple property. In order to protect the monks and temple property from infringement, haikuo wrote a letter to Emperor Kangxi to apply for "Zhu PI license". After reading the letter, Kangxi "en PI Shang license" was issued. It was recorded that "since then, the common monks have a basis for burning and repairing, and the gods and men have been touched with great kindness." local bullies and hooligans no longer dare to make trouble here. In order to thank the emperor for his kindness, haikuo set up the "Hongen stele" here in June of the 52nd year of Kangxi. It is said that Emperor Kangxi's sister, also known as the imperial aunt, once offered incense here. It's Midsummer, the heat is unbearable, friends looking for a summer resort, I think of the cool nunnery. In recent years, Qingliang nunnery attracts visitors from all over the world because of its precipitous, strange shape and cool, and there is an endless stream of visitors throughout the year.
According to the records of Qi county annals of Ming and Qing Dynasties, more than 3000 years ago, Qingliang nunnery was the summer resort of King Zhou of Yin Dynasty. With the fall of King Zhou, there were no buildings and people here, and Qingliang nunnery gradually became a ruin after disaster.
It is said that in the early years of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, an out of town scholar broke his bond with others and wandered around, determined to find a quiet place. He finally chose Qingliang nunnery. After the scholar entered the mountain, he took the name of haikuo, concentrated on cultivation, collected money from coolies, founded a temple and revived Anwei. He also built a plate of large stone mill in a natural cave. One was used to grind the grain given by the good family, and the other was used to temper the will and strengthen the body. Therefore, visitors in the past can often hear the sound of "rumbling" in the valley, so Qingliang temple is commonly known as Nianzigou. Although these are legends, there are inscriptions and objects as evidence. The cave, the mill and the stool are still well preserved according to the style of that year, which is very exciting.
