Futianjing temple is located at 25 Wenhua Road, Sijing Town, Songjiang District. The famous temple will last forever, and the palace will be renewed. Futianjing temple is the restoration of Dongtian temple, a thousand year old temple in Sijing.

Historical evolution

The predecessor of futianjing temple is actually Dongtian temple which still exists in the early days of the people's Republic of China, and it is supplemented by the reconstruction of "yanjiaan" (originally located at No. 6, beizhangjing, Sijing Town, biqiuni Temple), which was built in the middle of Qing Dynasty. In 1994, Yan Jiaan was approved as a temporary religious activity site, and the person in charge was Ni Huiqing. In June 2000, it was proposed by the Buddhist Association of Songjiang District. With the approval of Shanghai Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee and the people's Government of Songjiang District, it was changed into a biqiu Daochang. The yuantongbao temple was completed in 1958. Because Dongtian Temple existed in the Northern Song Dynasty in Sijing Town, and the site still existed in 1958, the president of Songjiang Buddhist Association, who is familiar with the history of Songjiang Buddhism, and the abbot of Xilin Chan temple, renamed the new temple futianjing temple, in order to commemorate the great virtues of Dongtian temple and inspire the later sages to promote the Dharma. And Princess Yu Xing held a ceremony for the completion of yuantongbao hall, with hundreds of participants. From then on, we concentrated the land of the eight small temples in the town of Si Jing, and moved to the other site of the site (the old site of Town God's Temple). By August 2006, nianfo tower, Yuantong hall, Tianwang hall, bell and Drum Tower, Dongxiang room, Gongde hall and Zhaitang have been completed. As for the farru hall, the west chamber and the living building, they will be completed soon. On the northeast side of Yuantong hall, there is a 500 year old ginkgo tree. Another ancient ginkgo tree, which symbolizes the history of the ancient town of Sijing for more than 1300 years, was not destined for the cultural revolution. It once covered nearly mu of sunlight. After that, the huge trunk will be sent to the District Museum for preservation. Dongtian ancient pagoda has been regained in Sijing Xishi bridge beitu, changed its name to Futian Anfang pagoda.

Abbot

Futianjing temple covers an area of more than 12 mu, with a construction area of 5186 square meters. At first, it was presided over by Xing Xiu, President of Songjiang Buddhist Association. Since 2003, master Ming Fei has been in charge of the daily affairs of the temple. At present, there are 120 monks.
