Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe
Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe, formerly known as Shanghai Youth Jingkun Opera Troupe, was founded in August 1961 and renamed in 1978. Yu Zhenfei, a master of Jingkun art, was the first head of the troupe. Most of the members are graduates from classes 1, 2 and 3 of Shanghai Opera School.
In November 2019, the list of national intangible cultural heritage representative project protection units was announced, and Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe was qualified as "Kunqu Opera" project protection unit.
Honors
At present, there are nine national first-class actors, seven of whom have won the "plum blossom Award for Chinese drama" and six of whom have won the "Magnolia Award for Shanghai Drama". Six people are entitled to State Council subsidies. In 1986, he won the first prize of the Ministry of culture for revitalizing Kun Opera. Over the past ten years, more than 250 traditional operas and more than 30 large-scale plays have been arranged and performed. In addition to performing in China every year, the troupe often performs in the United States, Britain, Japan, Denmark, Sweden, Singapore and other countries, as well as in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Representative plays
The representative plays of the troupe, such as "shi5guan", "Peony Pavilion", "Sima Xiangru", "Ban Zhao", have a high reputation among the audience, and a group of famous actors also have high attainments and reputation. Cai Zhengren, Wang Zhiquan, Hua Wenyi, Yue Meiti, Ji Zhenhua, Liang Guyin, Liu Yilong, Zhang Jingxian and Li Xuemei (seconded) have successively won the "Chinese Drama Plum Blossom Award". In 1986, the troupe won the first prize of the Ministry of culture for revitalizing Kun Opera and was honored as "the first-class troupe, first-class actor and first-class performance".
With the growth and maturity of young actors in the new area, such as Zhang Jun, Shen Yili, Ni Hong, Wu Shuang, Li an and Gu Haohao, the cast of Shanghai Kun Opera Troupe is more solid and vigorous, and its development prospect is more optimistic and broad.
