Eryan temple, also known as Foge, was first built in Yuan Dynasty. It is located on Renmin North Road, Nanqiao Town, Fengxian District, Shanghai. There is a thousand hands Guanyin hall in the temple, which is built on the moon city. Eryan temple, also known as "Buddha Pavilion", is located at No. 1749, Shanghai Hangzhou Road, Fengxian District, Shanghai. It was built in Yuan Dynasty. There was a statue of Avalokitesvara with thousands of hands and eyes carved from camphor wood, but it was destroyed in the cultural revolution. The ancient temple was built in 1993 due to municipal construction. The temple is composed of main hall, Tianwang hall, jade Buddha tower and other buildings. In 1993, Eryan temple was moved to its present site and merged with zhangwengmiao (the original site is now zhangwengmiao Village) to form one temple, one temple and one temple, which witnessed the changes and historical changes of Fengxian.

Origin of the name

The name of Eryan temple comes from (1) wisdom and solemnity, (2) Ford and solemnity. The seventeen volume of Nirvana Sutra says "two kinds of solemnity", one is wisdom, and the other is blessing. If there is a Bodhisattva with family, if there are two kinds of solemnities, then we know the Buddha nature. In the seven chapters of knowledge only, it is said that "those who are good at providing food" and "those who are good at fortune, wisdom and strictness".

"Two stricts" is the Buddhist language, namely "two solemnities". Wisdom and solemnity. The former is Prajna in the sixth degree, while the latter is giving, keeping precepts, enduring humiliation, striving and meditation in the sixth degree. According to the northern version of Nirvana Sutra, shizihuo Bodhisattva Pinyi: "if someone can enlighten the Dharma, it is full of two kinds of solemnity, one is wisdom, the other is blessing. If there are bodhisattvas who are full of these two solemnities, they will know the Buddha nature. " It is also called "two stricts". At the end of the seventh volume of "Cheng Wei Zhi Lun Ji" written by Tang peep Ji: "those who are good at food are good at fortune, wisdom and strictness. Those who do not distinguish between evil and emptiness will be able to achieve something and get Bodhi. " In Yuan Dynasty, Zhang Zhongshen's poem "send to the whole master": "two strict and two skillful explorations, there is nothing more than a thousand and a thousand."
