Quarry Garden
The mine garden of Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden is one of the scenic spots of Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden. It is located in the northwest corner of Chenshan Botanical Garden, adjacent to the northwest entrance. It is designed by Professor Zhu Yufan of Tsinghua University, Qingyuan Depu Floating Bridge Co., Ltd
Build. The original site of the mine belongs to waterfall, graben, plank road, water curtain cave, etc., which are closely combined with the natural terrain to deepen people's understanding of nature. The use of the status quo of the mountain texture, depth of carving, so that it has the shape and artistic conception of Chinese landscape painting. Mine garden highlights the theme of restoration garden, which is the leading garden in China.
The mine garden covers an area of about 39000 square meters. It used to be the West Mine of Chenshan quarry. According to the original ecological landform, it has been transformed into four areas: Jinghu District, Taiping District, Wanghua District and Shentan district. There are more than 1000 kinds of trees, low shrubs and herbs with excellent ornamental characteristics in mine garden, including Rosaceae, Lycoris, loniceraceae, Malvaceae, Verbenaceae, Malvaceae, Compositae, etc.
As early as the early 1950s to the mid-1980s, the south slope of Chenshan mountain was used as a site for mining construction stone. After quarrying, two quarry sites, East and West, were left. After the west side of the quarry is mined, it digs deep underground, more than 60 meters deep into the ground, forming an artificial deep pool with an area of 10000 square meters. The water surface of the pool is more than 30 meters above the ground, more than 30 meters deep, and the cliff is 30 to 100 meters high.
In Taiwan area, the existing mine sites are fully utilized. The original retaining walls are broken and reconstructed on the edge of the platform, and some areas are covered with rusty steel plates. On the basis of the existing bamboo forest in Taiwan, a secret garden space is formed, in which the negative ornamental flowers are planted and the positive ornamental flowers are planted on the edge of the outer platform. The main flowering plants and flowers in autumn, such as Sapindus mukorossi, Acer truncatum, Liriodendron chinense and Koelreuteria paniculata, were planted.
In Wanghua District, the existing Metasequoia glyptostroboides forest is used as the partition barrier between the special garden and the external space, and a large number of flowering trees and shrubs and ground cover flowers are planted. The plant species here are: cherry, Magnolia, Michelia, Mallow, Podocarpus, Qionghua, camellia, hydrangea, Rhododendron, dogwood, etc.
Taking Jinghu as the center, Jinghu District has the necessary sightseeing path as the viewing space and sightseeing space, which is the core of organizing and coordinating the whole site. In Jinghu Lake, there are emergent plants such as anemone and Lythrum. Along the coast, there are ornamental plants such as Lagerstroemia indica, Buddleja, Hemarthria and Echinacea.
