Guandu diamond throne tower, also known as diamond tower, is located in Guandu ancient town of Kunming city. It was called the cochlear cave more than 3000 years ago. This is the reason why the diamond pagoda is rare in China, that is, it was built after the Ming Dynasty.
King Kong tower
Jingang tower, also known as "Chuanxin tower", is located in Guandu ancient town of Kunming city. The tower was built in 1458 and rebuilt in 1696. In 1982, it was repaired, and the railings were built around it for protection. In 1996, the State Council announced the tower as a key cultural relic protection unit in China. The diamond pagoda is the only pagoda made of sand and stone in China. There are five towers in the complex, which are built on the base of a square high platform. The platform is 4.7 meters high and 10.4 meters long. The East, West, South and north of the platform are connected by the cross of the four gates. Therefore, it is also called the tower through the heart. It is said that people used to walk through the tower when they passed here, even the bridal sedan chair. People think that this can communicate with God and bring good luck. The main tower is tall and majestic, with a height of 16.05 meters. The four small towers around are only 5 meters high. It is a typical Lama style pagoda made of sand and stone with the longest extant time in China.
Structure of diamond tower body
The body of the pagoda is barrel shaped and looks like a Lama pagoda. It is thick at both ends and thin in the middle. There are seven rings of lotus petals (called diamond ring) in the lower part, which contract layer by layer like steps.
Open the light door on all sides.
Above the tower is a square Sumi style tower neck.
There is a bronze umbrella cover, hanging eight bell duo, and a bronze casting four heavenly kings.
On top of it is a round light made of stone, surrounded by small bell duo.
The top of the brake is a bottle and a pearl.
The tower was first built in the Yuan Dynasty and later destroyed.
The present tower is a relic of the second year of Tianshun in Ming Dynasty.
It was initiated by Mu Cong, the chief soldier of Yunnan garrisoned by Dr. Ronglu of tejin, and funded by Luo GUI, the eunuch of Yunnan garrisoned.
It took three months to complete.
On the whole, Guandu Vajra pagoda highlights the performance and support of the five Buddhas.
However, at that time, one of the reasons for building a pagoda was to build merits and virtues. On the top of Dongting Lake in ximenquan, a pagoda of merits and virtues was carved.
The second is to seek longevity extension. On the top of the east gate is engraved "longevity extension method gate".
The third is to follow the customs and stabilize the people.
At that time, the war in Yunnan in the early Yuan Dynasty caused many sequelae. In order to stabilize the people's will, make the border carefree, and achieve the goal of "no governance", the stone pagoda was built by borrowing the custom of advocating Buddhism in Yunnan.
After hundreds of years of wind, rain and earthquake, the stone tower still stands.
Only the foundation of the platform sank three meters.
