Furong Street
The name comes from Furong spring in the middle of the street. Furong spring is hidden in the houses, which is natural. Lao Can's travel notes that "every spring, every household Chuiyang" has been regarded as a portrayal of Jinan. Therefore, it can be said that Furong Street embodies the characteristics of Jinan's spring culture.
How beautiful is it for people to live here? There is a poem as proof: "the old house is half an acre of green moss, and the stone beam floats upstream. A pool of new green Hibiscus water, a few short flowers sitting in the shade, writing books. " This is Dong Yun, a poet of the Qing Dynasty, who wrote "Furong spring residence".
Historical evolution
In the 28th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1600), Furong spring was used as the water source to dig a small river and lead it to WaiPan pool in front of Fuxue gate, which was named "Tiyun River". The street along the stream is Furong street. At that time, most of the residents lived on the west side of the street, and every family was adjacent to the stream, which was a school of Jiangnan scenery.
During the reign of emperor Shunzhi of the Qing Dynasty, people built a bridge on the "tiyunxi" and named it "Qingyun bridge". Taking the meaning of "walking in a smooth way", a memorial archway was built at the head of the bridge, with the four characters "tengjiaoqifeng" inscribed on the front of the archway. In the early years of Kangxi, houses and shops were gradually built on the east side of Furong. Since then, merchants gathered in the street, and tourists were like weaving. So the "Tiyun River" in the street was changed into an underground ditch under the bluestone pavement. Around Furong street, there are Fuyuan, Dusi, buzhengsi, Gongyuan, Fuxue and other government agencies, so many businesses open here, and Furong street becomes a prosperous street.
In 1862, the Mencius of Zhangqiu opened Ruixiang cloth shop on the street. In 1872, the first optical shop in Jinan, Yishan, opened on the street. In 1913, Ju Simin and others founded Jinan Education Publishing House on the street. During the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, wenshengxiang, the largest department store in Jinan, opened on the street. There are also shoe and hat shops such as hongshengzhai, silk cloth shops such as hengxiangxing, dyeing workshops such as juxiangxiang, clock and watch shops such as baoshanzhai, photo shops such as rongfangguan, hairdressing shops such as minhuatang, Canaan commercial firm specializing in beekeeping appliances, flower seeds and pesticides, and Printing Bureau. Chinese medicine, western medicine, pen shop, Beijing goods shop, jewelry shop, books, calligraphy and painting, stationery, Nanzhi, musical instruments, clothing, pottery, antiques, lettering, nanmu, copper and tin ware, snack bar, qianhang, etc.
After 1956, most of the shops were converted into factories and houses. After the reform and opening up, it has gradually become a snack street. The government attaches great importance to the development and construction of Furong street. The Institute of urban studies of Tsinghua University has been invited to Jinan to make a plan for the restoration and construction of Furong street. Famous planning and construction masters Professor Wu Liangyong and Dr. Zhang Jie also put forward good suggestions for the restoration and reconstruction of Furong street. Mr. Fang Yuncheng put forward a specific plan. Furong street is about 8 meters wide. The newly opened "Furong River" is 10 meters wide. Shunhe street is 6 meters wide on both sides of the river. Along the 2 meters wide slope green belt or wading stone steps, weeping willows, flowers, grass, stone benches, tea houses, restaurants and snack bars will be planted in the green belt. Arcade style teahouses will be built along the river. Arch bridges will be built at traffic intersections“ From the building to the willow side, the boat is swimming in the picture. " The government now plans to transform Furong Street into a "folk Street". In the near future, Furong street, an old street with rich cultural heritage, will be full of vitality.

History and culture
In the old street of Jinan, Furong street
It's very lively. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the street was surrounded by Xun yuan, Du Si, bu Zheng Si, Gong Yuan and Fu Xue Yamen. The good geographical environment attracted many businesses to open shop here. The famous Ruixiang cloth shop, the first optical shop "Yishan" in Jinan during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, was the largest department store "wenshengxing" in Jinan at that time, and the education book agency run by famous educators such as Ju Simin, Wang Zhuchen and Xu Deyi all settled down in Furong street. Famous painters Yu Jianhua and Yue Xiangshu once lived in this old street to recruit students. Furong street once became a commercial street mainly engaged in four treasures of study, musical instruments, cultural and educational supplies, antiques, calligraphy and painting as well as printing industry. At the same time, it also gathered shops and workshops such as lettering, copper and tin ware, musical instruments, clothing, shoes and hats, etc. shops lined the street with customers. In addition, most of the residents on the street were from Zhangqiu, which had a tradition of doing business. Furong street also began to start from a single cultural center With the development of culture and commerce, Furong street has been pushed to a very prosperous stage.
There used to be four temples in Furong street. From south to north, they were earth temple, Dragon Temple, Guandi temple and Confucian temple. Among them, Confucian temple and Guandi temple are the most famous. The Confucian temple was built in the Xining period of the Northern Song Dynasty. It was one of the oldest buildings in Jinan. In the era of imperial examination, the Confucian temple was the only place for examinees from all over the province to pass the examination. In the era of imperial examination, scholars entered County schools and government schools as students, also known as "entering school" or "entering pan". This was the starting point of the official career of feudal scholars. Therefore, in the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, a stone bridge was built on the Tiyun River in the north section of Furong street, named "Qingyun bridge", which means "Qingyun straight up", and a square was built with the title of "Teng" Jiaoqifeng memorial archway. Tiyunxi, qingyunqiao and tengjiaoqifeng memorial archways were all named after Confucian temples, government schools and scholars. At that time, literati and scholars from other places thought they were lucky to visit Furong street. Over time, the place where examinees and scholars tie their horses has become today's Mashi street, and the place where exam results are published has become today's bangpeng street. Although tiyunxi, qingyunqiao, and tengjiaoqifeng archways have been damaged for a long time, and there are no relics left, and only dachengmen, dachengdian, and dilapidated shadow walls remain in the Confucian temple, these relics are enough to imagine the tumultuous music in the worship of Confucius The grand occasion admired by thousands of people and the prosperity of Furong street. In addition to the Confucian temple, the Dragon God Temple and other three temples have disappeared, but there is a true story about the Dragon Temple on Furong street. After liberation, the government asked the kundao (Taoist nuns) of the Dragon Temple (Li Yuanren, Qian yuanxiu, Zhang Mingzhen, etc.) to be self-supporting workers, which made the kundao people who chanted sutras every day helpless. All of a sudden, a Kun said, "don't all sisters know how to embroider? Let's set up an embroidery group." Her proposal was immediately approved by everyone. They have a wish, that is to personally embroider a nightgown for the beloved Premier Zhou. A few days later, the pajamas were sent out, but they were worried all the time: can the Prime Minister of a big country see such a small Pajama? What they never dreamed of happened. The comrades in Premier Zhou's office wrote back to them, saying that the pajamas had been received and that the premier supported the establishment of the embroidery group. They burst into tears holding letters, so a five person embroidery group was set up overnight, which was the predecessor of Jinan embroidery factory. In the new society, kundao has become a self-supporting laborer.

According to the Secretary of history Zai Jin, there was a building beside Furong spring in Yuan Dynasty“ In the middle of Ming Dynasty, the poet Xu Bangcai, the right historian of King De's mansion, built "Zhantai building" nearby. Through the cracks of the stone slab, you can see the spring flowing under the stone slab. The fog on the stone slab road is formed by the warm ground air and the cold spring water. In the dead of night, you can hear the murmur under the stone slab road The sound of a spring. The time of high water period
