Baiyi Guanyin nunnery
Baiyi Guanyin nunnery is located in the middle street of Sanjiadian village, Mentougou District, Beijing. It was built in the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt in the song and Ming Dynasties. Sitting east facing west, brick gate. There are three front halls, three main halls, all of which are glazed tiles with big ridge top, and are decorated with glazed kissing animals. The main hall was originally dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva. White Guanyin is one of the 33 bodies of Guanyin, which is usually white clothes, white scarves and barefoot. It is a common image of Guanyin among the people. There are two stone tablets in the nunnery. One of them is the record of the restoration of Baiyi Guanyin nunnery in Sanjiadian, Yuhe Township, Wanping County, shuntianfu, Kyoto. It was established in the second year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty (1852). It records the process of the abbot Seng Hailiang's percussion and fund-raising. More than 110 shops and coal mines in urban and rural areas have donated money to help repair. The project lasted for two years. According to the inscription, Sanjiadian belongs to Yuhe Township, which is an important basis for historical and geographical research, as well as an important cultural relic for the study of business and coal industry in western Beijing. Another stone tablet is the inscription of rebuilding Xishan Road, which was established in 1872. It records that Xishan Road, starting from Sanjiadian, is an important channel between Xishan District and the capital city, and the main traffic line for coal transportation from various coal mines in Zhaitang area. The inscription also records that in the summer of the 10th year of Tongzhi reign in the Qing Dynasty, the road was broken by floods, and the coal mines and coal factories along the way donated money to repair the road, which has become an important material for studying the traffic history of western Beijing. Guangxu 26 years (1900), the village Yihetuan word group had set up a temple boxing.
