Yunfeng temple was first built in Tang Dynasty, rebuilt in Ming Dynasty and renewed in Qing Dynasty. It flourished for more than 600 years. In the early years of the Yuan Dynasty, because Sichuan residents firmly resisted the invasion of the yuan army, Kublai Khan, the ancestor of the Yuan Dynasty, hated the Sichuan people. After entering Sichuan, he burned and killed them, resulting in the burning of Yunfeng temple and the exile of monks and customs. In the Ming Dynasty, the war gradually subsided, and the few poor monks in Yunfeng Temple began to repair the temple. There were two climaxes in the temple expansion project, one in the middle of Ming Dynasty, and the other in the period from Qianlong to Daoguang of Qing Dynasty. The second renovation and expansion lasted for more than 110 years, and the scale of the expansion was particularly grand, with more momentum than any other in history. On the left side of the temple, there are exquisite and peculiar stones, more than Zhang high, rising from the ground. It is said that Nu Wa made stones to mend the sky from the edge of Taihu Lake and accidentally lost a stone in Yunfeng temple, so she called this stone "flying stone from Taihu Lake". Therefore, the temple was also named "Taihu shiyunfeng Temple", which was later renamed Yunfeng temple. This stone is naturally exquisitely carved. It is a natural wonder to see it from afar and enjoy it near. What's more strange is that no stone with similar texture can be found around. No wonder some people speculate that it is an extraterrestrial meteorite. On its origin, the original couplet of Maitreya hall wrote: "ask where the stone fruit of Taihu Lake comes from, Maitreya has no words to touch his belly and smile. "Since Maitreya can't explain the reason, this eternal mystery is still for people to reverie.
The ancient temple is magnificent and the environment is quiet. When I come here, I suddenly feel that I have no desire for anything. It seems that I have been transformed into the boundless and illusory nature. There are "three wonders, three wonders". The three wonders are: Ancient Nan, Shenshui and Taihu stone; the three wonders are: pagoda, wind tunnel and shaking Pavilion. Zhennan, ginkgo and other valuable trees grow in and around the temple. These rare ancient trees are mainly Zhennan, with thick trunk and high height
