China Banknote Printing and Mint Museum
The Museum of China's banknote printing and mint is on the ground floor of a building in the mint. The building built in the 1920s is itself listed as an excellent modern protected building. The collection contains coins from different periods in history.
Collection
The China Banknote Printing and Minting Museum has coins of various periods in history. We don't have those treasures, so we focus on the process of coin making, as well as various commemorative coins made after the liberation, especially after the reform and opening up, with a view to breaking the mysterious impression left by the mint industry for a long time. In history, Eastern countries generally used casting method to make coins, which is called Oriental currency; western countries mostly used beating method to make coins, which is called western currency. The current machine-made coins follow the principle of Western striking technology, but in the museum you can see all kinds of ancient casting molds.
architectural composition
The Mint Museum will be divided into four theme Museums: Mint History Museum, mint Technology Museum, mold Museum and new China Coin Museum.
Important events
In order to commemorate the official opening of the China Banknote Printing and Mint Museum, the museum issued a set of commemorative bronze medals.
The commemorative medallion is made by Shanghai Mint. It is designed and carved by senior craftsman Fang Maosen and young craftsman Zhao Qiang and Xu Yunfei. It is made of brass with a diameter of 80 and is limited to 2000 sets.
The front of the building is represented by the building of the China Banknote Printing and Mint Museum, and the rigorous modeling of the classical architectural style is shown from the perspective of photography. In depicting its overall design, the author uses the contrast technique of dynamic and static, realistic and exaggerated.
A new century Commemorative Banknote floats out of the middle door of the front, which is expressed in the way of dynamic and static contrast in the design. With a revolutionary base banknote and several coins floating to the museum on the back, and its exaggerated artistic tension, it shows that history no longer reappears. The original image of China Banknote Printing and Minting museum gives people a shock and dignified feeling, which is also the traces left by history before people's eyes.
The design and technology of this chapter have broken through the common coin which rarely use concave convex technique at the same time. The appropriate combination of concave and convex techniques also makes the picture better show the texture of the virtual and real contrast of the coins, the classical style, the heavy stone sense, and the clear and bright lines enrich the charm of the sculpture texture of the chapter. The local design of the commemorative bronze medal of the China Banknote printing and Minting museum is innovative, with three pieces to welcome the new century commemorative banknotes and three pieces of revolution on the reverse side Base banknotes are designed in the form of overlapping connection, which is a wonderful new idea in the design of coins, and also arouses people's unanimous admiration. Through the positive and negative patterns, the contrast between the western classical architecture and the heavy gate in the ancient architecture of our country reflects the features of its banknote printing history.
