Founded in 1992, Mahler Gallery has been committed to the exhibition and dissemination of contemporary art in the international field, covering painting, sculpture, photography, installation, behavior and other forms of artistic creation.

The gallery works in Lucerne, Switzerland and Beijing, China: the management center is located in Switzerland. The space of Beijing grass field art district has become a well-known gathering place for international collectors, curators and art lovers. The gallery building in Beijing is designed by Ai Weiwei. Six houses built around the courtyard form four broad exhibition spaces. The "artist residence" project founded by the gallery is also located here.

The gallery's art projects involve famous and cutting-edge artists from China, Europe and the United States.

Since the mid-1990s, mailer Gallery has entered the Chinese contemporary art circle, which is the earliest gallery to explore Chinese contemporary art. Today, these artists who cooperate with galleries have become participants in the international high-level contemporary visual art discourse circle. In the past years, the gallery has always supported a group of influential Chinese artists such as Ai Weiwei, Qiu Shihua, Wang Xingwei and Xie Nanxing.

The studio provides western artists with the opportunity to work and live in China for a short time and encourages them to have extensive contact with the Chinese art community. These well-known or cutting-edge artists will create an art exhibition project for Beijing space during the project period.
