Qiangan Hutong
Qiangan hutong is located in Xicheng District of Beijing, north of Di'anmen West Street, east of Qianhai West Street and west of sanzuoqiao Hutong. Qiangan Hutong was built in Yuan Dynasty. It was called Jiangan Hutong in Qing Dynasty. After the Republic of China, the homonym of "Jian" was "Qian".
Characteristics of Hutong
Qiangan Hutong (formerly Jiangan hutong) was built according to the arrow that fell near Baochao Hutong in that year.
The alley is very short, about 100 meters long. You can see the tail of the alley from this end. The roadside of Hutong is not only full of vehicles, but also Shichahai tour buses pass through from time to time. The east entrance of the hutong is the bustling Qianhai West Street, so it's hard to be quiet here.
The gate of No.3 courtyard is very humble, and there is a unique cave in it. As soon as you enter the door, there is a screen wall. On the right hand side, there is a vertical flower gate. Although a house has been built next to it, at least the vertical flower gate is still quite complete. The decoration of this door is relatively simple. I don't know why, I always think the vertical flower door should be more gorgeous. This is the old house of Lejia, the former Tianjin Darentang drugstore. The side of the eaves on the side house is supposed to be the same as here, but there is a wall in the middle. The back walls of several courtyards in this lane should be Guo Moruo's former residence, and the horse name of the he family in the Qing Dynasty.
No.5 hospital is a well-known courtyard. Its former owner was Mr. Qi Changqing, the developer of "vaccinia" vaccine and "rabies" vaccine in China.
Qi Changqing: Manchu inlaid yellow flag, surnamed qitala. He was the director of Lanzhou Institute of biological products, Ministry of health, and one of the founders of biological products in China. The Tiantan strain of Chinese vaccinia vaccine was produced and used in the whole country, eliminating smallpox. Later, it developed the Chinese rabies virus "Beijing strain", which has been used up to now.
Qi Changqing's first wife is a nephew of Puyi, a descendant of Prince Yunxiang of Heshuo Yixian. So some people call it "gegefu".
There are some well protected and well maintained courtyards near Shichahai, which are open to the public at a fee of 20 yuan per person. I don't know if there are still people living in other courtyards, or just like here, there are no people living here any more. It's just a tourist attraction.
Siheyuan is the carrier of Beijing People's life for generations, not just the architectural form. If it becomes a pure tourist place, it will lose its soul, which is really meaningless.
Related Legends
There is another legend about the origin of the name of Jiangan Hutong
It is said that in the early Ming Dynasty, when Emperor Zhu Di (Ming Chengzu) swept the north, he lived in Nanjing. He planned to build a new capital in the north. Where was the capital built? He thought about it and finally called Xu Da. He said to Xu Da, "I want to build a new capital in the north, but I haven't chosen a place yet. Let's do this. With your divine power, shoot ten arrows to the north. Wherever the arrows fall, build a new capital. " Xu Da agreed to come outside the hall, drew his bow and arrow, and shot ten arrows to the north. The ten arrows landed at Changping, qianmenwai, Deshengmenwai, Chongwenmenwai, guanganmennei, dongshuichang, beichizi, Dongdan, beibingmasi and Baochao Hutong. After the completion of the Ming capital, each of these ten places has formed an arrow shaft alley, and each alley is as straight and thin as an arrow shaft. It is said that it was named after Xu Da's ten arrows.
