Pace Beijing
Pace Beijing is located in the center of 798 Art District, covering an area of nearly 2500 square meters. It is one of the largest space buildings in the park. Based on the large zigzag Bauhaus style workshop designed by German architects in the 1960s, it has been transformed by the famous architect Richard Gluckman into a memorial building with perfect connection between modern sense and Bauhaus architectural style, as well as nostalgia and modernity.
Pace Beijing is committed to building a world contemporary art landscape of Asian art, trying to promote the exchange and common development of different arts through its experience.
Artists with close agency relationship with pace Beijing include Zhang Xiaogang, Yue Minjun, Sui Jianguo, Li Songsong, Song Dong, Liu Jianhua, Yin Xiuzhen, Haibo, Zhang Huan, Li Zixun, Mao Yan, Hong Hao, Xiao Yu, Qiu Xiaofei, etc. The gallery has held the annual landmark theme project "voice of Beijing" for many times. It is based on the local environment, takes a broad view of the world, combines with a number of international contemporary artists, and provides the world with the art concept of Asia as the starting point. Together, it interweaves a brilliant new chapter of the world's contemporary art.
With the mission of promoting Asian art to the world, pace Beijing has successfully held many influential exhibitions, such as "Zhang Xiaogang: historical records", "Li Songsong: abstract", "Yue Minjun: Road", "Sui Jianguo", "great experience", "DVF: Journey of clothing", etc. In 2012, the world's most famous photographer, Hiroshi Sugimoto, held his first exhibition in China in Perth Beijing, which shows that Perth Beijing, as the leader of Chinese contemporary art, is also making unremitting contributions to the continuous growth of Asian art.
Pace Gallery has a long history. It was founded in Boston in 1960 and moved to 57th Street in New York. Pace gallery opened four gallery spaces in New York and a brand new space in London in October 2012, showing the expansion strength of pace gallery as the world's leading international gallery in the new version of culture and art, and a new round of internationalization of contemporary art pattern. Today, pace Gallery has more than 50 international artists. In the past half century, pace Gallery has held nearly 700 exhibitions and published nearly 350 exhibition albums. Since its establishment, pace Gallery has participated in and promoted the occurrence and development of contemporary art in the United States since the 1960s, and has had an important impact. With the importance of Chinese contemporary art in the world, pace Beijing will undoubtedly become a new force in the field of international art.
