There is no way to know when the Dongshan ancient temple began. However, according to professional archaeologists, the style of the two stone pillars in the main hall of the ancient temple is a relic of the Tang Dynasty. Now there is only one pair left in Tong'an area.

Dongshan ancient temple in Tong'an is located at the foot of the beautiful Dalun mountain, with wengongjian on its back and wengongsong on its left. In ancient times, it was called "Dongshan ancient temple in fanglishan of Tongan County, Quanzhou Prefecture".

According to the ancient stele in the temple and the records of Tongan county annals, Dongshan ancient temple was founded in Zhengde period of Ming Dynasty, and has a history of more than 500 years. The two existing bluestone plinths in the main hall of the ancient temple are carved in the style of the Tang Dynasty, which seems to be relics of the Tang Dynasty.

Ming Dynasty architectural style, an area of more than 200 square meters. The front hall is dedicated to fajialan and hujiegong. After the main temple worship protect king, zhonghuizu king, Beishan king, Zhifu messenger and other gods. At the back of the left and right houses, the householder worships the God of father-in-law and the empress of Zhusheng. There is a plaque on the top of the gate of the ancient temple: "jade will seal Dongshan ancient temple". The ancient couplet on the crown head of the palace gate reads: "East Germany is worthy of immortality, and the mountain spirit bell is boundless here." In front of the temple, there is a half moon shaped stone release pool. The stone railings are the original components of the Ming Dynasty. A large stage is built in front of the pool. December 25, 2011 (the first day of the twelfth lunar month) is the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the reconstruction of Dongshan ancient temple in Fujian Province.

Located in Yongping village, Xintian, Hong Kong, it has a history of more than 400 years. Located on the side of Qingshan Road, the temple is small in scale.

Historical evolution

The temple was founded in 1470 (the sixth year of Chenghua in Ming Dynasty).

It was rebuilt many times in 1893 (the 19th year of Guangxu), 1905 (the 31st year of Guangxu) and 1970.

Architectural features

The temple is a three-way structure with a wooden roof and a patio. The whole temple is made of granite.

Gate forehead: "Dongshan ancient temple". Menlian said: "the safety of new year's celebrations in the East, West and South all depends on Cihang's universal ferry; in the mountains, Fukang and mausoleum, we chant and pray, and we also hope to live together.".

On the inner wall of the temple are the inscriptions of yuezhufangming rebuilt in 1893, Dongshan Temple rebuilt in 1970, and yuezhufangming.
