Dailiao reservoir
Introduction to scenic spots
This area was called hulianbao in the Qing Dynasty. Because it was close to the sea, it was protected by dikes. The local people call it Dai, or the coast. During the Qing Dynasty, Daitian was often invaded by the sea. During the reign of Daoguang, Zhou Kai, a coastal garrison stationed in Xiamen, became even more serious. Many Daitian fields were abandoned. Therefore, the landowner of Xue family gave up his field as a granary. Zhou Kai was impressed by it, so he built a stone dike 213 Zhang (about 710 meters) here in the 15th year of Daoguang, The earth dike is 117 feet (about 390 meters) long and has been completed in half a year. What we saw at the scene is a section of earth dike left in history. On the outside of the earth dike is a stone dike. Outside the dike was the sea at that time.
