Beiwu Park covers an area of 711 mu, divided into East Park and West Park. The design style of the park not only highlights the historical and cultural heritage, but also has a modern flavor. There are four scenic spots in the East Garden: the summer palace and Yuquan mountain. Xiyuan is located in the north of Beiwu Jiayuan, with large and small open spaces for the surrounding people to have leisure, entertainment and organize festival celebrations. The park will also build basketball courts and other sports facilities to meet the needs of the people.
The origin of Beiwu
In the Ming Dynasty, there were three places for berthing and repairing ships in the south, the middle and the north, with the middle dock in the middle and the North dock in the West. It is said that in the 13th year of Yongle, there was a big flood in this area, and the imperial court sent a fleet here for disaster relief for as long as two years. At that time, the ships were only berthed in three places, which were called Beiwu, Zhongwu and Nanwu respectively. They were windproof because they were high on all sides. There are relative records in the 13th and 14th years of Yongle in Ming Shilu.
Park history

The park is coordinated with the surrounding Summer Palace, Yuquan mountain and other parks, and complements each other; the scenery, vegetation and sculpture in Beiwu park are adapted to the environment, which improves the overall quality of the park. One of the distinctive features is the bow shaped observation platform. The park skillfully uses the technique of borrowing scenery. Climbing on the observation platform, you can not only see Yuquan mountain nearby, but also the Buddhist Pavilion in the summer palace when the weather is good. And then there is the small piece of rice field in the west of Beijing. On August 16, 1958, Prince Sihanouk and other foreign guests, accompanied by Premier Zhou and vice premier he long, came to Beiwu village of Yuquan agricultural cooperative. At that time, they visited Jingxi rice. When the accompanying personnel introduced that this was Jingxi rice, which was once dedicated to the imperial palace. The rice was white and green, and the family was half cooked. The premier even said, "good, good!" today's paddy field and the bow of the boat It's very meaningful to reproduce the historical origin at that time.
