There is a 5-meter high platform of 2000 square meters in the northeast of the city, commonly known as "Dianjiang platform".
The city is located in the north and south of the block, with a large scale and complex structure, which is composed of three parts: outer city, inner city and palace city. The outer city is 690 meters long from north to South and 594 meters wide from east to west, with an area of 410000 square meters, or 615 mu. The base width of the wall is 14 meters, the top width is 5 meters, and the residual height is 4 meters. The inner city is located in the middle of the outer city, 354 meters long from north to south, 310 meters wide from east to west, covering an area of 110000 square meters, or 165 mu. The width of the wall base is 10 meters, and the residual height is 2 meters. A moat was set up inside and outside the city, and a gate was opened in the middle of the south wall. There is a palace city in the middle of the inner city. A rammed earth platform of 40 meters × 40 meters × 5 cubic meters is built in the palace city, covering an area of nearly 1600 square meters, commonly known as "Ziying platform". The western part of the city is thrust by the Tongziba River from the south. A large number of Han Dynasty pottery pieces, bricks and tiles are left in its section and on the surface of the city. The Han Dynasty iron plow, wuzhu coin, big tile, pottery pieces, and stone mill pieces are unearthed in the city. There is a 40 m × 50 m × 5 m3 high platform 300 meters northeast of the city, commonly known as "Dianjiang platform".
Han Tombs in baguaying
Gansu Provincial Institute of cultural relics and archaeology has recently completed the rescue excavation of nearly 100 tombs in baguaying, Minle county. Among the confirmed tombs of Han Dynasty, more than 300 pieces of pottery, bronze, lacquerware and other burial objects have been unearthed.
Zhao Jianlong, an associate researcher of Gansu Institute of cultural relics and archaeology, who is responsible for on-site archaeological excavation, said that the largest number of pottery unearthed in the tombs is more than 200 pieces, including Han Dynasty gray pottery pots, pots, basins and stoves. In addition, more than 100 pieces of bronze mirrors, hooks, lacquer boxes and iron swords were unearthed.
The folk music archaeological excavation was carried out to cooperate with the construction of the second double line of Lanzhou Xinjiang Railway. It was started at the end of October 2010, and the site excavation was completed in early December. Further sorting and research are being carried out indoors.
A total of 98 early tombs were excavated. According to the shape of the tombs and the unearthed objects, 56 of them belong to the Han Dynasty tombs. The unearthed objects are mainly from these Han Dynasty tombs, which provide new information for the study of the relationship between the Han nationality and ethnic minorities in this area.
What puzzles the archaeologists is that these tombs are different from the general tombs of the Han Dynasty. In the tombs, not only the artifacts of the Han Dynasty were unearthed, but also the decorative pottery pots similar to those of Xindian and Qijia were unearthed. The phenomenon of cultural crisscross is obvious.
According to the cultural characteristics of the tombs and the legend that there was a Yueshi people's East King City in the area, Zhao Jianlong speculated that these tombs might not be the tombs of the Han people alone, but were suspected to be related to the Yueshi people living at the foot of Qilian Mountain at that time.
Protection status
The western part of baguaying city is repeatedly broken by the Tongziba River coming from the south. In the midsummer and rainy season every year, the river rises sharply and still washes the East Bank of the river. The "dianjiangtai" is in danger of being washed down. Although the ancient city ruins and Bagua tombs are guarded by cultural guards, they are far away from the village. In the middle of the night, there are sometimes robbers. During the 12th Five Year Plan period, it is planned to build a 400 square meter house for cultural relics protection and management in the heritage protection area, which is dedicated to the protection of the relics of Bagua ancient city and Bagua tombs. The city site is surrounded by a fence, and boundary posts and boundary markers are set up in the protection area. The estimated cost of the protection is 1.4185 million yuan, including 1.1348 million yuan from the central government and 283700 yuan from the local government.
