Lee Kuan Yew's ancestral home "zhonghandi" is located in Tangxi, dangxi village, Gaopi Town, Dapu county. In front of zhonghandi, there is an open field. Two mountains face each other. Yingzui mountain on the left is extraordinary, like a Golden Phoenix dancing; shetougang on the right is winding and undulating, like a Qianlong, with beautiful scenery and idyllic scenery.
Zhonghandi sits from northwest to Southeast, with a total width of 16.3 meters and a total depth of 11.2 meters, covering an area of 223 square meters. The building is of brick and wood structure, with hard hilltop and courtyard layout. "Zhonghandi" is written on the top of the gate. On both sides of the gate and on the top of the gable, there are ink paintings of figures, landscapes, flowers and birds. There are 8 rooms in the house. The patio is used to separate the entrance hall and the upper hall. The beams of the entrance hall have simple wood carvings. The upper hall is spacious and bright. Lee Kuan Yew was born in Singapore in September 1923. He was the first Prime Minister of Singapore in June 1959. On October 10, 2015, the ancestral residence scenic spot of Lee Kuan Yew, which was built by Guangdong Dapu with a capital of 50 million yuan, was opened to the public on October 10. On the same day, during the Eighth World Tai Po fellow townspeople's Association, local people from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and other places at home and abroad visited the scenic spot as the first group of tourists. Lee Kuan Yew's ancestral residence scenic spot takes Lee Kuan Yew's ancestral residence "zhonghandi" as the core, with a planned area of about 1200 Mu and a total investment of 50 million yuan. It is planned to be constructed in three phases according to the national 4A level scenic spot standard. By February, nearly 30 million yuan has been invested to basically complete the planning and construction of the first phase of the core landscape area. The construction projects mainly include Lee Kuan Yew memorial hall, tourist center, Tangxi lake, etc.
Its main projects include: Tourism and leisure shopping street, wetland park, entrance landscape area, resort villa area, ecological farm leisure area, rural sightseeing area, landscape lake viewing area, Hakka ancient village visiting area, fruit picking area, climbing viewing area, etc.
The entrance is the patio, and directly into the patio is the middle hall. There is a big room on both sides of the middle hall, and there are small rooms and big rooms on both sides of the patio. On the wall of the middle hall of "zhonghandi", there are pictures of Li Guangyao's lineage and family life. The exhibition hall of Lee Kuan Yew's deeds is also arranged in "Zhonghan Di". The exhibition hall is divided into four parts to introduce the growth process of Lee Kuan Yew from his childhood to his youth's school age, as well as the deeds of Lee Kuan Yew leading Singapore to achieve economic take-off and become the "four little dragons of Asia".
At the Lee Kuan Yew memorial hall, a bronze statue of Deng Xiaoping shaking hands with Lee Kuan Yew is on the entrance, which reproduces the scene of Deng Xiaoping's first visit to Singapore in 1978. The memorial hall is divided into four exhibition halls. It introduces Lee Kuan Yew's life and Singapore's history in the form of pictures, videos and wax figures. The scenic spot is surrounded by more than 20 characteristic ancient dwellings of Lee Kuan Yew's ancestral home, which are as old as before. Tourism planning
In 2008, the Tai Po government carried out a comprehensive renovation in accordance with the principle of "repairing the old as before" and renovated the surrounding environment.
