history
According to Jiangxia county annals, "Longquan Mountain was called Lingquan mountain in ancient times, and it got its name because of the bright green and sweet spring pool in Lingquan temple." Longquan Mountain is surrounded by dragons and towering peaks. The three sides of the mountain face Niushan lake and Sanchagang. Between the boundless blue waves, Yunshan, Dalong mountain, Erlong mountain, Longzhang peak, Yuping peak, Tianma peak and Maan peak rise meandering. Since ancient times, it has been regarded as a "blessed land" surrounded by mountains and water, beautiful lakes and mountains, and quiet forest and spring.
The human history of Longquan Mountain can be traced back to the Western Han Dynasty. At that time, this area was the fiefdom of Fan Jian, the Marquis of Wuyang, named Jiangxia, so its mountain was called Jiangxia mountain. In the early years of Tang Dynasty, it was renamed Jiashan, which means that the two mountains are separated by roads. In the last years of Tianbao in the Tang Dynasty, Prime Minister Li Xi built a house and dug the ground to get the spring, forming two wells in the East and the West. When the east well breathed, it was sunny, and when the west well had no gas, it was rainy. So it was also called Lingquan mountain.
Liu Bang, the emperor of the Han Dynasty, took Wuchang as the fief of fan Kuai. After fan Kuai died, he was buried at the foot of Tianma peak. Since the Han Dynasty, many hermits have moved to Lingquan mountain to live in seclusion, thus becoming the ancient city of Lingquan, "better than a city in shape.". According to the annals of Jiangxia County written by Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty, "the ancient city of Lingquan began in the Han Dynasty and flourished in the Tang and Song dynasties." In the valley basin, which is 7 square kilometers around the mountain, there are Lingquan temple, Tingsong Pavilion, Yuantiao Pavilion, Daguan bridge, Chunlu Pavilion, Qiushuang Pavilion, qingyujing, Baihui garden, longguixiyuchi, liaoertang, hanshanlou, wanjuan library, baishoutai, etc. These magnificent pavilions and pavilions were built here by the reclusive officials of fan, Li, Du, Zhang, Shen, Zeng, Dong and Zou. For example, "wanjuan bookstore" was built by Li Xi, Prime Minister of Tang Dynasty; "Hanshan Pavilion" was built by Zhang Yunyu, poet of Song Dynasty; "Wanshou terrace" was built by Shen Ruyun, Prime Minister of Yuan Dynasty. In addition, the famous Jin Dynasty governor Tao Kan was also buried here.
In the Ming Dynasty, it became the mausoleum of Chu kings. "Ming history" records: "King Zhen of Chu Zhao, the sixth son of Taizu. At the beginning of his life, Pingwu Chang reported the arrival of Shi, and Taizu said, "the son is the leader of Chu." In 1381, Zhu Zhen became king of Chu at the age of 17. He ruled Wuchang for 43 years in the palace of the sun of Sheshan under the Yellow Crane Tower.
Zhu Zhen goes to Lingquan mountain every year for summer vacation. Seeing that the mountain is surrounded by water and the scenery is beautiful, he often sighs: "I'm sorry that it's a Yang house. If it's a Yin House, it's very good." As a result, the divination engineer assigned it as "the auspicious land of five dragons holding saints" and engraved it with "Longquan special knot for many years, three thousand clouds of pink and black clouds hanging outside" From then on, Lingquan mountain was renamed "Longquan Mountain". Because there were tombs and descendants of Han Wuyang Hou fankuai, Yuan Prime Minister Shen rujun and Ming official Zhang Tianyou in the "lucky land", Zhu Zhen either changed his surname to Zhu, or replaced two mu of land with one mu of land. The eight local surnames refused and told the emperor, but the officials could not resist Tianhuang. With the emperor's acquiescence, Zhu Zhen finally built his own tomb here. Soon, the big market town of thousands of families living in the eight families was moved to the outside of the mountain, and the area around the mountain was included in the mausoleum area. As soon as this example opened, all the kings of Chu built tombs here, which became the mausoleum and cemetery of the nine kings of Zhao, Zhuang, Xian, Kang, Jing, Duan, min, Gong and he. Gradually, the "three turtles, nine bedrooms and twelve sceneries" were formed. The prosperous "Lingquan ancient city" was eroded into a cold Chu king's tomb area, forming a spectacle of Ming Tombs in Beijing and nine kings' tombs in Wuhan.
Among the nine mausoleums, Zhu Zhen's Zhaoyuan is the most famous. It is located at the foot of Tianma peak and covers an area of more than 100 mu. The princess, the daughter of Prince Bi of Anyuan, was buried with Zhu Zhen. On the left side of the "Zhaoyuan" city wall, there is a stele Pavilion and a stele erected inside. The turtle under the monument is 1.4 meters high, 5 meters high and 1.5 meters wide. It was founded in 1447 by Chu Xian Wang, the grandson of Zhu Zhen. The wall of Zhaoyuan is square, with a total length of 1400 meters, a thickness of 1 meter and a height of 2.8 meters. The bricks are specially made by the official kiln, each of which weighs 18 kg. The main entrance has three arched round doors, and the left and right doors are made of white marble and white stone relief. From the main entrance to the main hall, the road is paved with 1 meter square white stone. According to the rank, there are Jinshui arch bridge, Zhu's Imperial Hall, hall of enjoyment, platform worship and other buildings. The hall on the ground has already collapsed, but the nine dragon heads, jade pillars and screen columns carved with white marble are still intact. In 1982, the mausoleum of King Zhao was renovated on a large scale. In 1991, Hubei Provincial Institute of Archaeology and Wuhan Municipal Institute of archaeology carried out a rescue excavation of the tomb of King Zhao, and unearthed more than 100 cultural relics, such as gold book (copper), jade seal, belt and so on. In 2001, the Ming Chu mausoleum was announced by the State Council as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
In ancient poetry
There are many poems praising the scenery of Lingquan by the literati in the past dynasties. Here is an example of the scenery in spring, summer, autumn and winter. as
Zhang Tianyou's spring tour in Lingquan
Looking at the green mountains from afar,
A close look at the water.
The white jade trees in tumei are different,
Willow smoke everywhere wind.
Li Chun of the Ming Dynasty wrote a picture of Longshan in summer
The sound of the water reaches the bottom,
There are many buildings in the mountains,
The moon, the willows of Shuangxi,
The fragrant wind is ten li lotus.
Tang Lixi's Lingquan mountain night
Although there is not a word "autumn" in the whole poem, the meaning of autumn is full of poetic notes
The mountains are still, the clouds are growing, and the rocks are growing,
Clear water and full moon,
The next chicken crows,
The cold wild geese are dancing.
Zhang Xiang's Lingquan winter scenery in Ming Dynasty
Loose bones, strong weather, cold resistance,
Plum gills breaking snow, fine fragrance,
If you want to know the beautiful scenery of Lingquan,
With a hundred of buildings as windows.

Longquan Mountain scenic spot is located in the southeast suburb of Wuhan City, 20 kilometers away. It is close to Liangzi Lake, surrounded by water on three sides in the southeast and North. The two mountains stretch for 9 kilometers from west to East, forming a 7.6 square kilometer Valley Scenic Belt in the scenic spot. Longquan Mountain was called Jiangxia mountain before Tang Dynasty. Many hermits and poets lived in Lingquan valley. In the last years of Tang Tianbao, Li Xi, the prime minister, dug the ground to get the spring and formed two wells. What's amazing is that these two wells can test the weather. When the east well breathes, it's sunny. When the west well breathes, it's rainy. So people named it "Lingquan mountain" and later evolved it into Longquan Mountain. After the Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang established this place as "sleeping mountain", he successively built nine royal tombs here, namely, Zhaozhuang, Xian, Kang, Jing, Duan, Mian, Gong and he, known as "three turtles, nine sleeping and twelve sceneries".
Tips: Liangzi Lake at the foot of Longquan Mountain is rich in authentic Wuchang fish. Don't miss the chance to eat them.
