origin
For hundreds of years, there has been a beautiful legend: in the early years of the Qing Dynasty, a villager surnamed Li who was feeding ducks in the field and a pregnant woman who was mowing grass in the field saw a young woman in a blue shirt walking into the forest with a flower basket in her hand. They were deeply surprised. They searched for the trail, and suddenly heard the wonderful fragrance. They saw a fairyland in front of them. However, they saw two streams of spring water gurgling, clear and sweet. There was a worship platform beside the spring mouth. On the platform stood a tablet: "he Xuyuan, South China Sea. This is the West heaven" (this tablet is now embedded in the back wall of the Daci Hall of the ancient temple). People are very surprised. Is the night, pregnant woman suddenly stomach pain unbearable, in the mother-in-law's inquiry, said with the day saw things. The mother-in-law rushed to the worship platform to offer incense and worship. She took a can of spring water and a handful of water plants beside the spring home to fry Soup for her daughter-in-law. The pain stopped and the spirit was radiant. Everyone was amazed.
These miracles spread from time to time, from time to time, from place to place, and from place to place. What's more wonderful is that the quantity of spring water is larger when the drinkers are drinking from the spring water, while the quantity of spring water is smaller when the drinkers are less. People all think that Guanyin Bodhisattva is here to show his holiness and enlighten him, and they all come here to worship him. Xiang Ling then raised funds to build a temple, which was originally named Guanyin temple and respected as Guanyin Bodhisattva Taoist temple. In 1935, the temple was renamed Qingquan Temple because of its two perennial sweet and clear springs.
