Sanchaji bridge over Xiangjiang River is a river crossing channel connecting Yuelu District and Kaifu District in Changsha City, Hunan Province, China. It is located on the Xiangjiang River channel and is one of the main urban roads in the northeast of Changsha City.

The construction of Sanchaji bridge on the Xiangjiang River started on April 30, 2004, the closure of the main bridge was completed on June 8, 2006, and the whole line was put into operation on September 1, 2006.

Sanchaji bridge on Xiangjiang River starts from Yinshan road in the west, crosses Xiangjiang waterway in the upper and ends at Furong North Road in the East. The total length of the line is 1577 meters, and the total length of the main bridge is 732 meters. The bridge deck is a two-way six lane urban trunk road with a design speed of 60 km / h.

Construction process

On April 30, 2004, the foundation stone laying ceremony of Sanchaji bridge on Xiangjiang River was held, and the construction of the bridge started; on September 14, the first steel cofferdam of Sanchaji bridge on Xiangjiang River was floated in place.

On May 23, 2005, Xiangjiang Sanchaji bridge completed the main pier project; on August 21, Xiangjiang Sanchaji bridge completed the first section of steel box girder launching erection project; on November 16, Xiangjiang Sanchaji bridge completed the first section of prestressed concrete box girder launching erection project.

On April 18, 2006, Xiangjiang Sanchaji bridge completed the launching and erection of the steel box girder of the main bridge; on May 19, Xiangjiang Sanchaji bridge carried out the cable installation of the main bridge; on June 8, Xiangjiang Sanchaji bridge completed the closure project of the main bridge, and the whole line was connected; on September 1, Xiangjiang Sanchaji bridge was put into operation.

Sanchaji bridge on Xiangjiang River is located in Changsha City, Hunan Province, China, connecting Yuelu District and Kaifu District. It is 2.7 km away from Fuyuan Road Bridge on the upstream and 4.2 km away from Xiangjiang River Bridge on the downstream in the north. The bridge starts from the intersection of Yinshan road in Yuelu District and North 2nd Ring Road in Changsha City in the west, crosses Xiangjiang River waterway on the upper side, and ends at the intersection of North 2nd Ring Road and Furong North Road in Kaifu District in the East, The east bank is connected with Xiangjiang North Road, Xinglong Road and Furong North Road; the whole section of the bridge is one of the components of the North 2nd Ring Road of Changsha City.

The line of Sanchaji bridge on Xiangjiang River is 1577m long. The main bridge is arranged with a span of (70 + 132 + 328 + 132 + 70) meters. The rise span ratio of main cable in middle span is 1 / 5 and that of side span is 1 / 10.6245. The main cable of suspension bridge is located on the vertical curve with a radius of 24402.745m. The full width of the main girder is 35m, the height span ratio of the steel box girder is 1:91.1, and the height width ratio is 1:9.72. The height of No. 11 West Tower is 106.16m from the top of the foundation, No. 12 East Tower is 104.453m from the top of the bearing platform, and the height of two towers is 71.752m from the bridge deck. The distance between them is 25 meters at the top of the tower. The length of the center line of the main cable is 680.70m, and the steel cable quantity of the whole bridge is 1026 piers. The sling spacing is 9 meters, and there are 122 pairs of slings in the whole bridge. The net weight of the upper saddle is 26 tons; the weight of the lower base plate of the saddle is 14.5 tons, including the filler plate. There are 4 sets of saddles in the whole bridge.

From January 12 to 18, 2019, the expansion joint of Sanchaji bridge on Xiangjiang River will be repaired. Vehicles from west to East will borrow one lane from east to west to ensure two-way four lane traffic.
