Shutang mountain
Shutang mountain is located in Shutang mountain village, Tongguan street, Wangcheng District, 50 miles north of Changsha City, Hunan Province. Ouyang Xun, a great calligrapher of Tang Dynasty, and his son Ouyang Tong studied in this mountain. Shutang temple is the former site of Ouyang family's Shutang.
Shutang mountain has a beautiful scenery. Today, there are many relics, such as Xibi spring, which is characterized by "eight sceneries of Shutang". The "eight sceneries" of Shutang are: the site of reading desk, Yuan stall, Xibi spring pool, Taizi Weiwei, Shuangfeng Jiadao, cypress Lianzhu, Daoxiang spring, Ouyang Gezhi.
Landscape resources
The main peak of Shutang mountain is 196.2m above sea level. The shape of the mountain is similar to that of Bijia mountain, so it is also called Bijia mountain. This is the hometown of Ouyang Xun, a great calligrapher of Tang Dynasty.
You Fu Zhi said Shutang mountain: "fifty miles north of Changsha, the mountain is not very high, but the forest is beautiful. In the Tang Dynasty, Ouyang inquired about the reading place of his father and son. Today, there are still pen washing pools and reading platforms on the side of the temple. Mingtong Zhiyun: fifty miles to the north of Fu City, Ouyang Xun of Tang Dynasty studied here. "
Ouyang Xun and his four sons Ouyang Tong once lived in this mountain. They taught in linchi every day and enjoyed reading at night. They lived a quiet and peaceful pastoral life in the place of fresh spring and clear water.
Xibi spring
In huizitang, on the south slope of Shutang mountain, there is a "fountain for washing pens" where Ouyang and his son read and wash pens. The spring flows through the mountain stream and flows into a small pool. The word "xibiquan" is immediately on the granite beside the pool. The word is 18cm high and 17cm wide. It is written in Yinwen official script, and the edge of the pen is strong.
Shutang mountain and Xibi spring have become places of historic interest for the fame of Ouyang and his son.
Eight scenes of the library
The old "eight sceneries of the book Hall" said: the site of the reading desk, the jade case stall, the Xibi spring pool, the prince Wei Wei, the double Maple Road, the cypress trees, the Daoxiang spring, and the Ouyang Gezhi.
Matan mountain
More than 1km to the south of Shutang mountain, there is Matan mountain with an altitude of 288.7m. Its peak is steep, with beautiful clouds and towering rocks. There are often tourists and poets climbing.
It can be summarized as "ten sceneries of Matan": Lingxiao fairy cave, lion holding camphor, Baiyun ancient temple, Jingui Yuetang, Guolao standing, Guiquan fragrance, xietoaoling, heigouzhuyang, lianmachishang, Zhonggu square. Today, baiyun temple has been demolished, and the remaining nine scenes can be seen.
