Guannan County Museum

Guannan County Museum, located at No.1 Renmin West Road, Guannan County, Jiangsu Province, is a local comprehensive museum. In December 2010, the new exhibition hall of the museum was completed and opened to the public free of charge, with a floor area of 420 square meters.

It is divided into eight parts: preface hall, vicissitudes of life, treasures preserved in Han Dynasty, relics of Tang and Song Dynasties, gouchen in Ming and Qing Dynasties, charm of wood carving, Erlang Zhenjun and stone carving jucui.

archaeological discovery

On the morning of November 1, 2008, in the process of cultural relics census, the staff of Guannan County Museum accidentally found a site of the Tang Dynasty with an area of more than 10000 square meters in the Yihe River of the county.

According to the preliminary research of cultural relic experts, the site is buried in a black soil layer with a width of more than 100 meters and a thickness of about 3 meters, scattered with a large number of exquisite porcelain pieces, various pottery products and ancient brick and tile pieces. Most of these newly discovered ceramic and brick pieces are left over from the Tang and Song dynasties. They are basically from Jizhou kiln, Yue Kiln, Longquan kiln and Ru kiln. They are made of various types of bowls, plates, cups, pots and pots, covering daily porcelain and furnishing porcelain. The glaze colors of porcelain include blue and white glaze, white glaze, Longquan glaze and blue glaze. The county's cultural relics investigators believe that these porcelains have a long time span, miscellaneous kilns, rich shapes, a wide range of glaze colors, and exquisite decorative patterns, which are of great research value in history, science and technology, fine arts, and folk customs.

Around the museum day, Guannan County Museum will carry out the publicity week of cultural laws and regulations, and hold the roving publicity exhibition of "Guannan County intangible cultural heritage survey results picture exhibition", "Guannan County unearthed cultural relics boutique picture exhibition", "Guannan county cultural protection units and cultural relics introduction picture exhibition" in the whole county.
