Zixia mountain
Zixia mountain, also known as Xixian mountain, Xiuyan mountain and Aoshan mountain, is located in the west mountain of Ruian City. Ma Xiang, a Taoist of the Liang Dynasty, once lived here for alchemy. There were alchemy platforms, two pavilions of Guanchao and Aoshan on the mountain, and 28 wells at the foot of the mountain.
There is a beautifully built brick wall behind the Sutra tower. Behind the wall is a mound about eight meters high with a radius of 100 meters. It is said that this is the site of the imperial palace where emperor Fu Zong of the Tang Dynasty fled from Chang'an to Shuzhong and "stayed" in the north of Xindu City. It has been regarded as a holy land by monks of all ages in Baoguang temple. It was named Zixia mountain because of the gathering of Zixia and the lighting of relic. For more than 1000 years, Zixia mountain has become the name of Baoguang temple.
Around the Zixia mountain, there are dozens of ancient Phoebe trees, which are dense and tall. But each tree has its own border and leaves do not disturb each other. It is a wonder of the Xiashan mountain. These ancient NANs died two or three decades ago. The Nanlin they saw, bujinlin, was replanted later.
From the back of Zixia mountain and the East and west sides, all the way to the gate, there are green bamboo and wood gardens. Walking in the forest garden, the air is fresh and the birds sing harmoniously. In addition, on both sides of the forest garden, there are Putong pagoda courtyard and the Pagoda Forest composed of bone pagodas of ancient monks in the temple
It is said that the mountain is often covered with purple clouds, so it is named. Today's Kangle Street (around Ruian theater) is also known as Zixia square in ancient times. In October of the 35th year of Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1556), Japanese pirates invaded the county from Northern Fujian. Ruian garrison Liu long once supervised the troops in Xishan. The title was inscribed under the original stone inscription "Zixia mountain", which has been eroded.
