Nan-au-shiang

Nan'ao township is a township in Ilan County, Taiwan Province. It is located at the southernmost end of Ilan County, adjacent to Yuanshan Township, Sanxing Township, Dongshan Township and Nan'ao township; Wulai District of Xinbei City, Fuxing township of Taoyuan County, Jianshi township of Hsinchu County and Heping District of Taichung city. With a total area of 657.5442 square kilometers, Yilan county is the largest township with a population of 5887 (April 2009). The terrain is rugged and mountainous, and the main residents in the territory are Taiya, the indigenous people of Taiwan. Historical development

The historical development of Nan'ao township can start from the Qing Dynasty. Nan'ao hot spring

Nan'ao township is a famous hot spring resort in Ilan. There are Nan'ao hot spring and Bihou hot spring for people to enjoy. "Nan'ao hot spring" is located on the North Bank of Nan'ao Beixi, Nan'ao Township, Ilan County. It is a colorless and transparent weak alkaline carbonated spring with a source temperature of about 65 ℃. It is said that it has curative effects on treating chronic skin diseases and relieving nerve pain. Bihou hot spring is also a hot spring It is located on the North Bank of Beixi River in Nan'ao, with pH value of about 9.41. It belongs to sodium bicarbonate sulfate spring. It is a famous Yexi hot spring in Nan'ao area, and its temperature ranges from 27 ℃ to 45 ℃.

The 118 year old road, from pedestrian footpath, carriage road, one-way lane to two-way lane, has experienced many vicissitudes, which is a witness to the road history of Taiwan.

Keep the moon

In June and July after the harvest of each grain harvest, the leaders of the Taiya tribes will gather the guardians of the law (that is, the elders in charge of the tribe's law) to discuss the date of the celebration after the harvest. The main purpose is to thank the national spirits for the abundant food they brought to the people and comfort the hard work of the people. Before the celebration, we must wait for the moon for a month. In this month, we must abide by the law and hunt, pound rice, make wine, weave... And so on. This kind of activity is called "keeping the moon sacrifice".

Aohua waterfall

Aohua waterfall is located in a valley six kilometers northwest of Aohua village. Because it is not fully developed, it is more and more magnificent.

Surrounded by mountains on three sides, the waterfall area is surrounded by rugged rocks. The waterfall will crack and fall straight from the top. The sound is as loud as thunder. Its abundant water will form a deep pool about 80 meters long and 60 meters wide. The water is clear and delicious, and there are fish and shrimp swimming. Nanao Beixi

Nan'ao Beixi is a tributary of da'nan'ao River, which originates from the Dayuan mountains. Its drainage area is 130000 square kilometers, and its flow length is 31.6 kilometers. It flows out of Bihou village and joins with Nan Xi to flow into the sea. On both sides of Beixi River, there are high mountains and steep valleys.
