Historical evolution
Minxiong Township, formerly known as "Da Mao", was originally the home of the "Da Mao society" of the Hongya people of Pingpu nationality. Da Mao was translated from Minnan dialect by the Han people.
In 1920, when Taiwan was reformed, the official thought that the place name "Da Mao" was not elegant, so it was transliterated as "Min Xiong" in Japanese, where "Min Xiong Zhuang" was set up and put under the jurisdiction of Chiayi County, Tainan Prefecture. It was changed to Minxiong Township, Jiayi District, Tainan County in the early postwar period and Minxiong Township, Jiayi county since 1950.
In 1953, the administrative region of the village was adjusted, and 22 villages were divided into 28 villages (Dongrong, Xi'an, Zhongle, Dongxing, Donghu, Sanxing, Songshan, Xinshan, Ruifeng, Fengshou, Zhenbei, liaoding, dinglun, Jingpu, Xichang, Zhonghe, Pinghe, Shanzhong, Xingzhong, Xingnan, Fuquan, Shuangfu, Wenlong, Xiulin, Daqi, Fuxing, Beidou, etc.)
Completed in 1973 in Touqiao industrial zone of Xingnan village and Xingzhong village, covering an area of 86 hectares.
In 1978, Xinshan village was merged into Songshan village and Ruifeng village into Fengshou village, which became 26 villages.
In 1982, it was completed in Minxiong industrial zone of Shuangfu Village (today's fule Village), covering an area of 244 hectares.
In June 1994, Jinxing village was separated from Xingnan village, and fule village was separated from Shuangfu village.

Local specialties
Geese: this township is not famous for raising geese. In the 1990s, geese were sold by a restaurant in front of the railway station. Due to the reasonable price and good flavor, it attracted customers. As a result, three geese shops were opened within 100 meters of the street. During the holidays, there were long lines of customers, and the steam engines and cars were seriously blocked, which made it famous.
