history
In 1937, the Japanese government decided to build a high-power radio station to fight against the powerful power of Nanjing central radio station and chose Minxiong area for construction. It was started in 1938 and completed in 1940, known as Minxiong broadcasting center. The broadcasting tower used at that time was two T 206 meter high tower, equipped with MB-15-A type 100 wave medium wave transmitter made by Japan NEC, which was launched in September 28th of this year. The coverage of the wave range is far from that of Southeast Asia and Chinese mainland Jiangsu and Nanjing. In 1945, the reception management of China Broadcasting Corporation, which was reorganized by the former central radio station, was changed to "Minxiong broadcasting room of Taiwan radio station", using the call sign of the central radio station. In 1954, a four tower directional antenna system was built. It was renamed "Minxiong machine room of China Central Radio". In 1980, it was renamed "the first launch base of China Central Broadcasting Station" because it was transferred to the Ministry of national defense. In 1998, China Central Radio broke away from the Ministry of national defense and merged with the Overseas Department of China Broadcasting Corporation. At present, Minxiong sub station has four transmitters (three short wave and one medium wave) to receive programs produced and broadcasted by Taipei Main Station and broadcast to central China, South China and overseas in mainland China. Because of its long history, it was planned to be the "National Broadcasting Heritage Museum" before the restructuring. It was officially opened in January 1999. In 2005, the "National Broadcasting Heritage Museum" joined the ranks of "local culture museums" of the Council for cultural and urban development, and was officially listed on November 13.
