Haikou Shishan Volcano Group World Geopark is located in Shishan town, southwest of Haikou City. It is only 15 kilometers away from the urban area. It can be reached by turning the Western Expressway into a green corridor, and the ring expressway passes through the park. It is a geological relic of basic volcanic activity of graben rift type. It is also one of the few dormant volcanic groups with Holocene (10000 years ago) volcanic eruption activity in China. China Haikou Shishan Volcano Group World Geopark is a world-class tourism brand developed on the basis of Haikou Shishan volcano park. In 1996, the park hosted the main venue activities of "World Tourism Day" and was successively rated as "excellent tourist attractions in Hainan Province", "top ten scenic spots in Hainan Province", national AAAA scenic spot and National Geopark. It is the only tropical island city Volcano Group Geopark in China, and the first world-class tourist attraction with outstanding and important value confirmed by UNESCO in Hainan Province. About the park

The park is about 15 kilometers away from Haikou City, covering an area of 108 square kilometers. The Haikou Volcanic Group is a rare Quaternary Volcanic Group in the world, about 10000 years ago, with 40 volcanic cones and more than 30 lava tunnels. The diversity of volcanic types, the richness of lava landscapes and the magic of lava tunnels are rare volcanic wonders. Volcanoes ten thousand years ago, the combination of Millennium volcanic culture and tropical ecological landscape constitute a Geopark with tropical urban volcanic ecology and culture as its connotation.

Introduction to scenic spots

Geological relics

The main part of the geological relic is the Quaternary Volcanic Group composed of 40 volcanoes. Volcanic types are complete and diverse, covering almost all kinds of basaltic volcanoes, including clastic cone, lava cone and mixed cone formed by magma eruption, and mar volcano formed by interaction between magma and groundwater. Volcanic geological landscape is very rich. There are more than 30 lava tunnels, the longest of which is more than 2000 meters. Its internal shape and landscape are rich and wonderful, which is rare at home and abroad. Tropical rain forest is developed on volcanic cone, crater and basalt platform in the park. There are more than 1200 kinds of plants in the ecological community. The orchard and volcanic landscape are integrated into one. It is an outstanding representative of tropical urban volcanic ecology. There are ancient villages, stone houses, stone pagodas and various production and living utensils built by people using basalt for thousands of years in the park, recording the volcanic cultural context accompanied by people and stones, which is known as the classic of Chinese volcanic culture. The total area of the park is 108 square kilometers. The main scenic spots are Ma'anling, shuangchiling, Xianren cave, luojingpan, etc.

Linghuoshankou scenic spot

It is a window scenic spot in the park. There are four volcanoes, fengluling in the South Cone, baoziling in the North cone and two small parasitic volcanoes called "volcano baby".

The range is two twin Mar volcanoes, and the crater wall is a tuff ring. The luojingpan mayai volcano, with an inner diameter of 1000 meters, has a perfectly shaped circular low flat crater, and a very pleasant pastoral scenery with radial and circular terraces.

The cave is divided into upper and lower sections. There is a cave in the lower section. There is a sky outside. It's very confusing. There are all kinds of lava and stone emulsion hanging and sticking on the rock wall, which is amazing. This cave is unique in stone and water. You can hear the sound of water drops at any time. Water drops cause different tones on different rocks, forming a very beautiful rhyme. The upper part of Xianren cave is divided into dozens of lava tunnels due to multiple collapses at the top of the cave. Some of these caves are like interconnected spider webs, some are like open underground restaurants, and some are like strange Castle palaces. Sunlight shines through the skylight formed by the collapse of the tunnel, making the dark scenery clear and magnificent.

Ma'anling volcano

It consists of four volcanoes, fengluling crater in the South Cone, baoziling crater in the North cone and two parasitic small volcanoes on the side. They are like a pair of eyes and are called eye ridge, which is known as the baby volcano. China's main venue for World Tourism Day in 1996 was held here and highly praised by experts and tourism officials from more than 20 countries.

Volcanic geological landscape

There are more than 30 lava tunnels in the park, with a maximum length of 2000 meters. Its internal shape and landscape are rich and wonderful, which are rare at home and abroad, and have great research and ornamental value. Luojingpan, shuangchiling and other low level craters in the park are all Ma volcano. It is the product of the steam magma explosion caused by the interaction between the deep hot magma and the cold groundwater. Maar volcano in the park is large-scale, well preserved and precious. Shuangchiling is a pair of twin Mar volcanoes, and the crater wall is a tuff ring. Luojingpan mayai volcano, with an inner diameter of 1000m, is a perfect round low flat crater, with a very pleasant pastoral scenery of radial and ring ladder shape.
