Zhongxian ancient village (now Zhongtian Village) is located in the west of Lichuan County, about 15 kilometers away from the county seat. It was built in the Song Dynasty and has a history of more than 1000 years. The village used to be called "Zhongtian" because it was surrounded by mountains and farmland in the middle. However, in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, especially in the Qing Dynasty, there were many talented people with the surnames of Chen and Lu in the village. More than 100 people passed the imperial examination and got the imperial examination. In addition, there was a beautiful Long'an River in the village, and the scenery on both sides of the river was beautiful. The official sedan Pavilion handed down by word of mouth
When you walk into Zhongxian ancient village
As long as they meet people over 70 years old, they all know the place of "official sedan chair Pavilion". Somehow, this pavilion is deeply branded in their memory. According to people familiar with the matter, the official sedan chair Pavilion is located in the northwest of the village, about one kilometer away from Zhongxian village. There are two roads leading to Jianchang mansion in ancient times. One is by land, passing Gongcun and Huangyuan to Nancheng; the other is by water. Not far from the Pavilion is the Long'an river. From here, you can get to Xujiang River and Ganjiang River by boat.
In ancient times, Zhongxian village was a relatively remote village. At that time, in addition to the transportation of rice and bamboo along the river, there were not many merchant ships going to and from Longan river. However, since the Qing Dynasty, the families of Chen and Lu passed the imperial examination, and many people won the imperial examination. They won the title of Juren and Jinshi, and became officials in the imperial court. In this way, people often came to pay homage to them. But when they arrived at the entrance of the village, the official sedan they took could not enter the village directly, so they had to park in the pavilion and then walk into the village to see them. Because the pavilion often has official sedan chair parking here, over time, the local people will call it "official sedan chair Pavilion". As a result of disrepair, the official sedan pavilion has already collapsed and become a ruin, with only a spring still flowing beside it.
Guangren Village
In the Qing Dynasty, due to the growing development of Chen and Lu families, they had a strong influence in Lichuan. In order to relieve the poor families and expand the family's social influence, they set up 13 granaries in Lichuan. Some of these granaries are located in ancestral houses and some in temples, collectively known as "Guangren village", which contains grain and other materials. Yicang started as a family's Yicang, which was limited to helping the poor families in the family, and later developed to helping the poor people in the whole township. At the same time, in the year of drought or flood, grain production will be reduced and grain prices will rise, which will play a role in stabilizing grain prices.
Now you can also find traces of Yicang in the village. Lu Zuowen temple is located by a stream in the village. It was first built in the Ming Dynasty and has been well preserved. There are more than 10 granaries on both sides of the hall in the ancestral hall. The floor of these granaries is more than one meter high from the ground, which can prevent moisture. Surprisingly, the ancestral temple has two large yards, which are supposed to be used for drying rice.
Because of their rich financial resources, Chen and Lu built houses and land in many places of Lichuan, so their family's granary was not only built in Zhongxian, but even in the county. Beside Lingyun lane, an old street in Lichuan, there is an old house called Chen family hall, behind which is Chen family's Yicang. According to the residents of the hall, there are 11 of them, all of which are of wooden structure. The underground is nailed with wooden boards, which can store 100000 Jin of rice. There is a backyard behind the hall, which is a suntan with an area of more than 200 square meters.
These granaries witnessed the glorious family history of Chen and Lu in Zhongxian village in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and also reflected the influence of clan power on society in feudal period.
Ancient architecture
In the Qing Dynasty, there were many dignitaries in Zhongxian village, so there were many high halls and courtyards in the village, forming a group of ancient buildings. According to the introduction of the old people in the village, the Chen family of Zhongxian village used to build dozens of exquisite halls in the village, such as Jinshi hall and Hanlin hall. The most famous building is Huiwei, which is an ancient building group composed of seven or eight halls. In the hall, there are carved beams and painted buildings. There are exquisite wood and brick carvings in the hall. The carving process is exquisite. There is a hollow stone archway in front of the gate, which is engraved with folklore. Unfortunately, the precious ancient buildings were destroyed by a fire in the war years.
The family of Lu family in the village made their fortune earlier, so there are many halls such as zhongtiandi, langguandi, dafudi and shikedi. Among them, the famous one is Lu Zuowen's ancestral hall, which was built in the 5th year of Jiajing reign of Ming Dynasty (1526 AD). The ancestral hall is built by the Lu people in the village to worship the founder, Duke Zuo Wen of Lu. It faces south and is located in the center of the village. It is a three way brick and wood structure with a large scale and a construction area of more than 5000 square meters.
There are gates on the left and right sides of the ancestral hall, which are engraved with the words "Fengxian, yuhou". Into the ancestral hall, facing is a spacious courtyard, pure stone pavement. According to the Lu clan leader, there used to be a drum blowing tower in the courtyard. In front of the main hall, there was a tall archway with three gates. Beside the gate stood two exquisite stone drums, about two meters high, carved with toads, auspicious clouds and flowers. Beside the stone steps in front of the ancestral hall, there is a pair of stone lions, a male and a female. The female lion is similar to the male lion in shape, but she holds a young lion in her arms, showing her love in her majesty.
The hall (ancient shrine) is the essence of the building of the temple of Lu Sao Wen. The upper God seat is made up of more than 10 red stones with a length of 4 meters and a height of two meters. They are carved with auspicious patterns such as bats (foes), deer (animals), animals (Shou), magpies (flowers), flowers and birds, fish and insects. The building area of the hall is more than 1000 square meters. The roof is the most common bucket arch structure in the Qing Dynasty. More than 30 wooden columns with a diameter of nearly 1 meter hold the hall high, which is solemn and majestic.
Bird's nest is placed on the wooden beam, on which many historical allusions and folk stories are carved.
After washing for a long time and being in disrepair, few ancient buildings have been preserved. However, some of the preserved halls, ancient alleys, Yicang and ancestral temples still attract people to explore those glorious years.
