Historical relics
Green city is a large complex site, which is the most concentrated building community of Xixia period found in Ejina Banner. There are cities, dwellings, temples, pagodas, earthen castles, porcelain kilns, tombs, garrison areas and military defense facilities within 10 kilometers. The Green Temple site adjacent to the city has a large area and reasonable layout. More than 10 clay Buddha statues and many Xixia scriptures have been excavated.
Site features
The plan of the city site is slightly square, with a perimeter of 1205 meters. The city wall is built with rammed earth, with a rammed thickness of 11-14 cm. The residual width of the wall base is 3.5m and the residual height is about 2m. In the east of the north city wall, there is a gate and an urn. In the west of the city, there is a covered bowl Lama tower, which has been destroyed. There are similar earth pagoda sites that have collapsed in the city. There is a channel passing through the city on the inside of Nanyuan. The cultural level of the city can be divided into two levels. Some scholars believe that the upper layer is the Xixia yuan layer, and the lower layer is the Juyan County site of the Han Dynasty. The main functions of the county should be to manage immigrants and organize agricultural production, so as to establish a base for controlling the western regions. The vast ancient reclamation area around the green city site strongly proves this point.
