There is a natural ancient seabuckthorn forest in quzhuomu Township, Cuona County, Shannan Prefecture, Tibet. Through textual research, the seabuckthorn forest here has more than 800 mu, with a history of more than 1000 years. In quzhuomu Township, along the niangmu River Valley, there are more than 2000 mu of ancient seabuckthorn forest. The highest seabuckthorn forest is about 15 meters, and the thickest tree girth is 4.5 meters, which is very spectacular.
Every Seabuckthorn tree in the Seabuckthorn King forest in quzhuomu township has a history of thousands of years. It can be said that it is the largest Seabuckthorn tree in China and even Asia. This thousand year old seabuckthorn forest in Cuona belongs to the wild willow leaf seabuckthorn forest. The local people call it "laxin". In Tibetan, it is called the spirit tree, that is, the tree attached to the soul. It is said that in the old days, gaxia government sent caretakers to take care of the seabuckthorn forest. Now, the village has hired some local people to protect the ancient forest.
