Laoyacha, with an altitude of 2413.8 meters, is the highest peak in Henan Province. It is located in Xiaoqinling National Nature Reserve in Guxian town of Lingbao City (West of Lingbao City and north foot of Xiaoqinling mountain at the junction of Henan and Shaanxi provinces). Don't say that outsiders don't know that "the highest in Henan" is laoyacha. Even local people rarely know that "the highest in Henan" is around them.

The geographical coordinates of laoyacha are 34 ° 25'12.37 "n110 ° 28'45.19" E, belonging to forest ecological nature reserve. The reserve is 31 km long from east to west and 12 km wide from north to south, with a total area of 15160 square kilometers and a forest coverage rate of 81.2%. The reserve is under the jurisdiction of the state-owned Sanmenxia Hexi forest farm, which was built in 1956. In 1982, the people's Government of Henan Province approved the establishment of Xiaoqinling provincial nature reserve. In February 2006, the State Council approved the promotion to the National Nature Reserve.

After the Qingming Festival every year, the warm spring flowers bloom, the snow on the mountain melts, the brook murmurs, the birds sing and the flowers smell, and there is a school of vitality everywhere. This is the best time to climb laoyacha.

The main protection objects are forest ecosystem diversity, biological species diversity, various animal and plant species in the reserve and their living environment. With mild climate, abundant rainfall and complex terrain, the area is rich in biological resources, mineral resources and landscape resources. The unique geographical environment and diverse plant communities provide superior conditions for the formation and reproduction of species. The biological species in this area are rare to some extent. There are 13 species of national key protected plants in this reserve. Among them, there are 2 national first-class protected plants, such as Taxus chinensis and Ginkgo biloba, and 11 second-class protected plants, such as Fraxinus mandshurica, fragrant fruit tree, wild soybean and Gastrodia elata. In addition, there are 27 species of national protected animals, belonging to 6 orders and 11 families, including 4 species of national first-class leopard, forest musk deer, Golden Eagle and black stork; 23 species of national second-class protected animals, such as golden cat, jackal, yellow throated mink and otter, accounting for 8.16% of the national protected animals, occupying an important position in species distribution.

The endemic species are the most abundant in Henan Province. There are 1029 endemic species of Chinese seed plants in this area, accounting for 49% of all plants in this area. The type specimens are native to China, including Rhododendron Lingbao, delphinium Lingbao, Actinidia henanensis, Begonia henanensis, Cymbidium henanensis, Dendrobium henanensis, etc. There are also many plants in this area for the South or north boundary, also has high scientific research value.
