Ziyun mountain scenic spot is located in Ziyun town in the southwest of Xiangcheng County, Henan Province. It belongs to the east foot of Funiu Mountain system. It is composed of nine mountains and eighteen peaks, five lakes and one river, with a total area of about 50 square kilometers. It is a national AA scenic spot and a provincial forest park. National Highway 311 to provincial highway 329. It is 10 kilometers from Pingdingshan City in the south, 45 kilometers from Xuchang City in the north and 60 kilometers from Luohe City in the East. Ziyun Academy

Ziyun academy is one of the eight academies in the Ming Dynasty. It is located in the south of Ziyun mountain scenic spot. It is built in the beautiful, quiet, green and lush mistletoe forest. There are Dacheng hall, left and right Minglun hall, East and West veranda, gatehouse, chengsiheyuan in the Academy, and bell and Drum Tower, Wenchang temple and gate outside.

In the fourth year of Chenghua (1468) of the Ming Dynasty, Li Min, a senior official and Minister of the prince's shaobaohu department, was appointed as an envoy of Zhejiang Province. His mother died and returned to his hometown for three years. During this period, he often strolled around Ziyun mountain. Seeing the beautiful and quiet scenery of the mountain, he built three study rooms for reading and lecturing. In the 18th year of Chenghua (1482), the emperor issued an imperial edict to give the name of Ziyun academy, which expanded the palace, hall and Zhai, and finally built the same as the Confucian temple. In the 19th year of Chenghua, because of his illness, Li Min wrote a letter to beg for his return. He took care of his illness in Ziyun Academy. He studied with other students the books written by Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi, and established a treaty. His practice and politeness made him famous in Zhongzhou for a time.

As another famous academy after the four academies of Song Dynasty, Ziyun academy has attracted students from all over the world to seek advice here. It is said that his Royal Highness Prince Youchu (emperor Hongzhi) also studied here. Since the completion of the Academy, there has been an endless stream of literati. They chant the snow in spring, avoid the heat in summer, enjoy the red leaves in autumn, and watch the snow in winter, leaving many well-known poems.

Ziyun red leaf is the autumn landscape of quercetin leaves of ten thousand mu on the hillside of Ziyun mountain. In the late autumn, the mistletoe leaves are red all over the mountain when they are frosted, and the forests are dyed like fire and rosy clouds, reflecting half of the sky and the surrounding mountains, lakes and rivers. The ancients once praised that "red clouds and red leaves are better than fire. You don't have to go to Xiangshan to enjoy autumn.".

The Quercus forest in Ziyun mountain is located in the hillside and valley between Danxia peak, Shuyuan mountain and Ziyun peak. It is a ring, 4.5 km long, 1.42 km wide, and covers an area of 6.4 square kilometers. It is said that it was given by Emperor Chenghua of Ming Dynasty. It is afraid that the Quercus forest will exceed 10000 mu, which makes Li Min, Minister of the Ministry of household, have the heart of usurping power. The shape of the quercetin tree is peculiar, with the beauty of music. Its body is like a dragon, and its leaves are like tiger's claws. There are no miscellaneous trees in the mistletoe forest. Ziyun Hongye is the best place for Zhongzhou to enjoy the red and autumn. It has been visited by literati, poets and celebrities in all dynasties, Ge Hong and Ge Xuan in the Jin Dynasty, Fang Xuanling in the Tang Dynasty, Mei Yaochen in the Song Dynasty, Li Min and Shen Zhou in the Ming Dynasty, sun Qifeng and Li laizhang in the Qing Dynasty.

Moon watching Pavilion

The moon watching Pavilion is located on a hill 150 meters south of Ziyun Academy. It is 10 meters high, square and 5 meters long. It is made of bluestone. It is the place where teachers and students of the Academy wrote poems, answered correctly, played the piano and enjoyed the moon.

You can enjoy purple clouds in spring, green fields in summer, red leaves in autumn and snow in winter. Especially on the 15th day of the lunar calendar, if the sky is clear, a round of jade plates slowly gush out from the top of the Academy in the East, and the whole mountain range is shrouded in the bright moonlight, peaceful and quiet. Occasionally, birds sing in the night, which makes it more quiet and peaceful, just like a fairyland.

Red stone forest

The red stone forest is a group of red stones on the top of the mountain in South Danxia, west of Ziyun. It is about 2000 meters long and 30 meters wide. It is close to ten thousand mu Quercus forest and Nanping grassland.

The stones in the red stone forest are all reddish brown, the highest is more than 3 meters, and the low ones just protrude from the ground, uneven. Some are like red lotus blooming, some are like horses galloping, some are like humps, some are like turtles crawling, some are like heavenly dogs barking at the sun, some are like turtles exploring the sea, some are like brown bears welcoming guests, some are like otters looking at the clouds, some are like hens pounding their nests, and some are like golden monkeys rising up. Walking into it, I feel that the seats are scenery, picturesque everywhere, just like stepping into a fairyland. In summer and autumn, jingshao, wild chrysanthemum and other wild grasses are mixed among them. From a distance, there is green in the red and red in the green, which is extremely enchanting. The red stone forest is a peculiar landform of sandstone stone forest formed by the exposure of red sandstone due to geological changes and long-term erosion and cutting of wind, frost, rain and snow. Ziyun mountain is located between Xuchang and Pingdingshan, near Pingdingshan. There is a special bus to Ziyun mountain at the South Station of Xuchang city. In Zhengzhou, you can take the bus from Zhengzhou to Pingdingshan to ziyunshan road. You can also take a bus to Xiangxian City, and then take a bus to Ziyun mountain. Or get off at Pingdingshan and take a bus to Ziyun mountain.
