Yuqiu Lake

Yuqiu lake, now known as Yuqiu lake, is located in Gaotang County, surrounded by the old city, so it is also known as Huancheng lake and Gaotang four lakes. Yuqiu lake is a city built by digging earth in ancient times. It is composed of southeast lake, southwest lake, northeast lake and Northwest Lake, covering an area of 1000 mu. It is the largest county-level Lake in North China.

Sun Dashi's painting and Calligraphy Academy and the classic outlaws of the marsh, which represent the national painting and calligraphy art hometown and the cultural landscape characteristics of the high Tang Dynasty, are located on the banks of the Northeast lake. The beautiful natural landscape and strong cultural heritage make the four lakes full of magical charm and development value. The four lakes have been listed as scenic and tourist nature reserves by the province and the city. In recent years, Gaotang county has worked out the detailed planning of four lake scenic spots, determined the overall layout of "two areas, three lines, five sceneries and eight districts", and initially carried out the development and construction. The Chaifu garden on the bank was built in the Yuanfeng period of Shenzong of Song Dynasty. It is the private residence of Chai Imperial City, the fifth grandson of Shizong of Later Zhou Dynasty. It has water on its back, towering buildings, cornices and brackets, and is extremely rich. The garden in the back of the mansion is full of famous flowers and grasses. It is very pleasing to the eye by skillfully arranging strange stones and flowing springs. It was once written into the outlaws of the marsh by Shi Naian, a great literary scholar in the late Yuan Dynasty.

It is said that the three wells beside Chaifu garden were built by Chai Huangcheng, the fifth grandson of emperor Shizong of the Later Zhou Dynasty, who moved to Gaotang. Although they are a few steps away, the water quality is sweet, astringent and bitter. Li Kui well in the south of Chaifu garden is also a historic site. According to the outlaws of the marsh, Li Kui killed Yin Tianxi, Chai Jin fell into Gaotang state, and Gao Lian, the governor of Gaotang state, put him into the prison. After the Liangshan hero conquered Gaotang state, Li Kui went down to the well to rescue Chai Jin, which is called Li Kui well by later generations.

As a bright pearl of culture and art in Northwest Shandong, sun Dashi art museum is a comprehensive venue integrating exhibits display, calligraphy and painting exhibition, exchange, collection, research, guidance and exhibition. It also attracts tourists with its unique charm.
