The north side of Shanghai Hangzhou highway is just one step away from the sea, and faces the three islands of Jinshan across the sea. Historical evolution
Jinshanzui is a well-known fishing port in Shanghai. In history, Shanghai's ocean fishery is very prosperous. At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, there were 36 shops and workshops in the small town, and there were more than 10 fishing Inns only dealing in fishing goods: during the spring and autumn floods, big fish and jellyfish were flourishing, tourists and merchants came to watch the tide, buy fish and do business gathered, and people crowded on the seawall.
In the 1980s, Jinshanzui fishing village reached its peak, with more than 1000 fishermen going to sea. It has 45 fishing boats of 1650 tons, with an annual output of 1.16 million tons of fishing goods. Its fishing range is from Hangzhou Bay to the ocean, from Diaoyu Island in the south to Jeju Island in the North. It is a red flag on the fishing front of Shanghai. However, since the late 1980s, due to the construction of many chemical enterprises, a large amount of sewage has flowed into Hangzhou Bay. In addition, overfishing has led to the gradual depletion of fishery resources, resulting in the situation of fishing boats resting on the beach and fishermen coming ashore. Most of the fishermen bid farewell to the sea, some work, some do business, and some never forget the sea. While insisting on offshore fishing, they also set up farming, fish processing and other businesses on land. Some fishermen, taking advantage of the unique natural conditions, opened dozens of seafood hotels on the side of Shanghai Hangzhou Road, forming a distinctive seafood street.
With the opening of the World Expo in Shanghai and the springing up of Jinshan tourism, Jinshanzui Old Street (fishing village, Shanyang town)
