General building
In the middle of Jinshanling Great Wall, there is an important pass called houchuankou. On the cliff to the east of houchuankou, there is an enemy tower in the shape of a coffin. This is the general tower (also known as the flower tower). There is also a novel of the same name by Han Limin.
brief introduction
There is a four story western style building at 121 Pozi street, which is called "general building" by the old streets nearby. This small building, which has gone through 60 years of vicissitudes, has become a witness of the integration of western style into Changsha dwellings. The renovation of this historic building was completed at the end of December 2005.
Jiangjun building is located in the northwest corner of the intersection of Jinfeng Road and Yanqiao road in Golmud City, Qinghai Province. It was built in April 1954. It is a small building with two-story brick structure and mottled colors. It was the office of general Mu Shengzhong, the director of the Qinghai Tibet Office (the predecessor of the Qinghai Tibet Military Station Department), who led his army to build the Qinghai Tibet highway and built a rainbow on the roof of the world. Since then, Beijing and Tibet are no longer far away.
characteristic
According to the local elderly, the general building was beautifully decorated. There are peony, Begonia, hydrangea, lotus and other flower carvings on the four walls of the building. On the other side, the stone pillars of the door were all carved with white marble. Unfortunately, when the Japanese invaders occupied this area of the Great Wall, they all destroyed it. There's only a little bit left. On the grassy hill outside the general building, there is a tomb called general's tomb. In the northwest of the tomb of the general, there is a big ditch three li long, called the general ditch. Legend has it that these names are in memory of a general who died here.
The newly renovated Wu Houde hall has a unique style, and the light gray exterior wall makes the old house more simple and quiet. The whole building is a brick and wood structure with a sharp slope top and a private wall outside. Pedestrians can see the light from several lanterns on the corridor from a distance. The independent courtyard separates the noise of Pozi street.
The dark red wooden stairs are zigzag and zigzag, and the window lattice with cross pattern adds elegance to the courtyard. The whole building is divided into three parts: front, middle and back. The front hall and middle hall are separated by patio. There are two floors in the front, four floors in the middle and one floor in the back. The corridor and cloister connect the traffic. A staff member in charge of construction guidance told reporters that this design not only benefits the room temperature adjustment in winter and summer, but also takes into account the day and night lighting and ventilation, reflecting the change of making foreign things serve China at that time. In addition, there are several rooms on each floor, with different sizes and distribution. There are reception halls on the first and second floors.
According to reports, the renovation work of Wu Houde hall began in 2004 and was carried out in two phases, with a capital investment of more than 1 million yuan. The first phase mainly completed the house reinforcement and external wall repair, the second phase mainly for indoor transformation.

According to experts from the Municipal Bureau of culture, the "general building" was built in the early 1940s. It was presided over by father and son zulikai, a famous mud carpenter in Changsha at that time. The architectural style is western style, while Chinese style is body. After more than 60 years, it has been well preserved. The first owner of the house was a teacher surnamed Wu under Chen Mingren, a famous general. The house was called "Houde hall", but the residents nearby used to call it "general building". At present, there is also a boundary stele embedded in the wall behind the house, "Wu Houde Hall's private wall and its private foot have no crevices.". This old house was once listed as the "guest house of Jiangnan Machinery Factory". Since 1951, it has been the office of the 282 factory of the Central General Administration of arms industry, i.e. Jiangnan Machinery Factory. Now it is owned by Jiangnan Machinery Group Co., Ltd. The predecessor of factory 282 is the famous Hanyang Arsenal.
legend
It is said that Qi Jiguang, a famous Anti Japanese general, was transferred from the south to the north as the chief officer of Jizhen soon. One day, accompanied by the guards, Qi Jiguang went out of the Chinese Army account to observe the local people. Here, a 17-year-old boy stopped Qi Jiguang and asked to join the army. Qi Jiguang was very surprised. At that time, most people in the North did not want to be soldiers. It was very rare for him to take the initiative to be soldiers, which attracted his attention. He looked at the young man carefully, melon face, willow eyebrows, apricot eyes, like a beautiful girl. Qi Jiguang was a little suspicious, so he asked him what his family name was, what his name was, where he lived, and why he volunteered to join the army? The young man said, "my family name is Wu and my name is Osmanthus fragrans. I live in Ninghai, Zhejiang Province. My father was a retired general. He respected general Qi's spirit of serving the country.
So he called me to bed and told me to find general Qi and be a soldier under him to defend the frontier. In order to realize my father's last wish, the day after I buried my father, I said goodbye to my mother in tears and came to find general Qi. Up to now, I have been walking for three months. All the way, I've gone through many hardships to find you. Please accept me anyway. " With that, the young man knelt on the ground and knocked his head. Qi Jiguang rushed to the guard to help him up, and asked: "you are a young man, why do you want to be named?" Wu Guihua said: "because my mother loved me very much since she was a child, and she was afraid that I would not be able to support her, so she named me a girl." Qi Jiguang nodded and relieved his doubts. Yes, this kind of thing is not uncommon. The eldest son and the eldest daughter are all in the world. Qi Jiguang asked him if he knew martial arts? Wu Guihua said: "general, with all due respect, I have practiced martial arts with my father since I was seven years old. Now I have been practicing martial arts with my father for ten years. I can say that I am proficient in knives, guns, arrows, halberds, axes, tomahawks, hooks and forks." At this time, Qi Jiguang suddenly looked up and saw two birds in the air, so he asked the guard to give him a bow and arrow to shoot the birds. Wu Guihua took the bow and arrow, whizzed two arrows in a row, and then two birds fell to the ground. The guards were stunned and couldn't help clapping. Qi Jiguang asked the guard to give Wu Guihua a steel knife and asked him to compete with a high martial arts guard. Wu Guihua refused to say: "if one or two guards compete with me, even if I kill them, I can't be regarded as high martial arts!" Qi Jiguang's heart is relaxed. He's really capable! He sent five guards to compete with him. Wu Guihua reluctantly agreed. He took off his coat, threw his steel knife aside and killed five guards empty handed. He suddenly kicked a guard's steel knife into the air, jumped up, caught it in mid air, and killed five guards. Qi Jiguang saw this scene as one of the shocks. Then he asked him, "do you know the art of war?" Wu Guihua said: "when my father was alive, he taught me some." He recited Qi Jiguang's art of war against Japanese pirates in the south. Qi Jiguang burst out laughing after hearing this. He was happy to find such a wise and brave general. Later, he invited Wu Guihua to the account of the Chinese army as a guest of honor and held a banquet to welcome him. Then he recommended him to the imperial court and appointed him as the deputy chief officer of Gubeikou.
Not long after Wu Guihua took office, five thousand northern Tatars attacked. Wu Guihua was ordered to lead 1000 soldiers to celebrate the war. He made full use of the natural barriers and favorable terrain in Gubeikou, skillfully deployed strange troops, surprised and unprepared them. As a result, the enemy was defeated at the expense of his troops and returned unbeaten, shaking the whole court. The emperor summoned him in person and held a banquet to celebrate his success.
During the three years of Longqing, the large-scale construction of the Great Wall began. Wu Guihua was ordered to lead the troops to build the houchuankou section of Jinshanling Great Wall. In the construction, he took the lead, carried bricks and stones, shared weal and woe with the soldiers, set an example for the soldiers everywhere, and always cared about their sufferings. He also paid attention to seeking the opinions of the soldiers, concentrated their wisdom, and won the admiration and support of the soldiers, so that this section of the Great Wall was built quickly and well, and was praised by the imperial court.
Unfortunately, just after the completion of the construction of the Great Wall, the enemy troops from the North invaded again. Wu Guihua led the troops to fight against the enemy and fought with the enemy for seven days and nights. When the victory came, Wu Guihua fell ill and died suddenly. He was just 25 years old. After their death, the soldiers found out that the general was really a woman. She joined the army disguised as a man. According to the will of the general "fight for the frontier fortress alive and sleep with the Great Wall after death", the soldiers buried her on the hillside not far from the Great Wall. On the day of burial, there was heavy snow and filial piety. General Qi Maoxue came to the funeral in person. The soldiers wept one by one. In order to make future generations remember and commemorate the woman general who died for her country, the soldier named the enemy building she built with her soldiers as the general building. The general building outside a ditch named general ditch, from generation to generation, until now.
