Shiqiu street belongs to Lishui District of Nanjing city. It is located in the southwest of Lishui District, adjacent to Shijiu Lake in the south, xiheng mountains in the west, Lukou street in Jiangning District in the north, and only 8 km away from Lukou Airport. Nanjing Metro Line S9 passes through the territory, with two stations, namely Shiqiu station and mingjue station. There are two universities in the street, namely Pujiang College of Nanjing University of Technology (Lishui campus) and Jiangsu Second Normal University (Lishui campus).

With a total area of 117.05 square kilometers and a total population of 51751, the street governs 6 communities and 8 administrative villages. It is known as "the hometown of knives and the source of iron paintings". Famous scenic spots are: Jiangsu Shiqiu film and television base, huanshanhe scenic area, Nanjing rose garden.

Shiqiu street is located in the southwest of Lishui District, Nanjing City, adjacent to Shijiu Lake in the south, xiheng mountains in the West and Lukou street in Jiangning District in the north.

Shiqiu street is located in the south of the Yangtze River, belongs to hilly area, the distribution of cultivated land and mountainous area is reasonable. The whole region belongs to the subtropical monsoon region, with four distinct seasons, mild and humid climate, abundant rainfall, sufficient light and long frost free period. The annual precipitation is 1037mm. The annual average sunshine hours are 2077.4 hours. The annual average temperature is 15.5 ℃. The annual average frost free period is 211 days. The annual average wind speed is 2.3 m / s. The terrain is high, the earth endurance is strong, the crust is stable, and there is no late active structure. It is mainly clay and weakly alkaline.

Historical evolution

In 591 ad, Lishui County was established. Shiqiu market town, which is now Shiqiu street, belongs to Sihe township of Lishui County.

At the end of Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of Ming Dynasty, the east of Sihe township was divided into yongyang street of Lishui District, and the West was renamed wanggai township.

During the reign of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty, wanggai township was changed into shiqiuba.

On April 25, 1949, Lishui was liberated in an all-round way. In the autumn of the same year, seven districts were set up, among which Shiqiu district was one.

In August 1956, Shiqiu district was withdrawn and merged into Shiqiu township. In September 1958, it was changed into commune (Hengshan commune was established from August 1962 to February 1966). In 1979, it was changed into Shiqiu Management Committee. In March 1984, it was changed into township.

In 1996, it covers an area of 80 square kilometers and has a population of 30000. It governs 17 administrative villages including Tangzhuang, shedong, Guantang, sangyuanpu, Shannan, Hengshan, duanqin, Lujia, Dushan, Shiqiu, Xietang, Taiping, Qiancun, Tingshan, jiutang, Xida and Shangshang.

On June 8, 1999, Shiqiu township was abolished and Shiqiu town was established. It covers an area of 68.25 square kilometers and has a total population of 30380 people, including 1027 non-agricultural people. It has jurisdiction over 2 neighborhood committees, 15 administrative villages and 225 villager groups.

In November 1999, mingjue town was abolished and merged into Shiqiu town. At the end of 2000, it covers an area of 115.06 square kilometers and has a total population of 48517, including 3710 non-agricultural people. It has jurisdiction over 2 neighborhood committees, 22 administrative villages (4 of which are added with the name of neighborhood committee) and 391 villager groups.

In 2003, shiqiuba and mingjue Temple communities and tangdou, shedong, sangyuanpu, Hengshan, Shiqiu, Xietang, jiutang, Shangshang, Tongxin, Sanxing, Xiangyang, Dongquan, mingjue and Guangming 14 administrative villages were administrated.

Note: the former [mingjue town] was originally under the jurisdiction of Lishui. It is located in the southwest of Lishui, bordering Bowang District, Maanshan City, Anhui Province in the West and Shijiu Lake in the south.

Before liberation, the former mingjue town belonged to Shanyang township of Lishui County.

Mingjue township was established in August 1956. It was changed into commune in September 1958, township in March 1984 and town in March 1990.

In 1996, it covers an area of 47.5 square kilometers and has a population of 20000. It has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages in Xizhuang, Tongxin, Sanxing, Xiangyang, Dongwang, Dongquan, mingjue, Guangming, Wuxiang, Jinhua and a neighborhood committee in mingjue.

In 1999, it covers an area of 46.82 square kilometers and has a total population of 18369, including 643 non-agricultural people. It has jurisdiction over 1 neighborhood committee, 8 administrative villages, 67 natural villages, 8 resident groups and 150 villager groups.

On May 15, 2018, Jiangsu provincial government approved the adjustment of Lishui District in Nanjing (SZF [2018] No. 30) and established Shiqiu street in Lishui district. Shiqiu Street administrative area is composed of six neighborhood committees in Shiqiu, tangdou village, mingjue, Guangming, Xietang and shedong, and eight village committees in Dongquan, Xiangyang, Sanxing, Tongxin, sangyuanpu, Hengshan, jiutang and Shangshang. Shiqiu Street office is located in Shiqiu neighborhood committee, with the office address at 158 Xinhe North Road.

S38 Changhe expressway, s341, s243 and g235 cross the border and reach xinshengwei port area of Nanjing port in 40 minutes. Nanjing Metro Line S9 was officially put into operation on December 30, 2017. There are Shiqiu station and mingjue station in Shiqiu street. It is 11km away from Zhetang interchange of S55 ningxuan Expressway and 6km away from Lukou South Interchange of s38 Changhe expressway.

Shiqiu Street focuses on the development and operation of ecological sightseeing agriculture, forming "four ten thousand Mu": ten thousand mu of special aquatic products; ten thousand mu of Italian poplar; ten thousand mu of ramie; ten thousand mu of sericulture. Shiqiu is a land of fish and rice. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has invested 2200 mu of intensive aquaculture ponds in the street. It is one of the engineering bases of Cailanzi in Nanjing.

There are two universities in Shiqiu Street: Lishui campus of Pujiang College of Nanjing University of technology and Lishui campus of Jiangsu second normal university.

Shiqiu street has many historic sites. Shangshangsi has a history of 1800 years; Weijia ancestral hall was built in Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty, with exquisite brick and wood structure and carved beams and columns, which is simple and elegant; Shiqiu's "iron painting" has a history of more than 300 years, and was rated as the intangible cultural heritage of Nanjing in 2005.
