The number of schools changed its name, including the provincial second normal school, the provincial second middle school, the provincial Huizhou middle school, the provincial Xiuning middle school, and the southern Anhui Xiuning middle school. In 1952, it was named Anhui Xiuning middle school by the Ministry of education, and it was designated as a provincial key middle school. At the end of 2000, it was rated as a model high school in Anhui Province.

School profile

Anhui Xiuning middle school, located between the picturesque Huangshan and Baiyue mountains, is located in Wan'an Town, Xiuning County. It has been nearly 100 years since its establishment. At the beginning of 1912, according to the program of popularizing compulsory education proposed by Dr. Sun Yat Sen, the fifth Provincial Normal School was founded in the then six cities of Huizhou (Xiuning, Shexian, Jixi, Shexian, Qimen, Wuyuan) by Mr. Hu Jinjie, a native of Jixi County, which was the pioneer of Huizhou normal education. In July of the next year, the former residences of Wu and Ren in the old town of Wan'an in Xiuning were purchased as permanent school sites. Since then, the school has changed its name. It was designated as Anhui Xiuning middle school in 1952, and has been designated as a provincial key middle school. At the end of 2000, it was rated as a model high school in Anhui Province.

First president

Hu Jinjie (1870-1934), who was born in Jixi, Anhui Province, was an influential scholar and educator in Huizhou in modern times. In 1874, he studied in Dongshan Academy. In 1883, he applied for the imperial examination in Guangxu, and was admitted to the government school. He became a learned man by giving a tribute to his father and studying the classics and history. In 1891, he taught in the Wang family school in the south of Jixi City, and later in the Qingxi private school in Zhejiang Province. During this period, he repeatedly wanted to establish a new primary school, showing his ambition and regretting that he had no money to establish it. In 1903, Cheng Songtang and Cheng Chengdong founded "Renli private Sicheng primary school". Hu Jin then presided over the school affairs for eight years and cultivated many talents. In 1912, he was appointed to prepare for the establishment of the fifth Normal School of Anhui Province and became the president of the school. In 1914, the Fifth Division was renamed the second provincial division, and Hu Jin took over the post of president of the second division until 1928. Later, he left the second division and returned to his hometown in Jixi. In 1932, he was appointed by the provincial department and compiled by Tongzhi library. 1933. He was hired to write the summary of the art and literature examination. He died in 1934. He wrote many works in his life, such as the atlas of provinces and regions of the Republic of China (published in Japan), the geography handout of the Republic of China, the autonomous annals of Daocheng village, the textual research of the art and culture annals of Anhui Tongzhi, the Jiaoshi School of Zhouyi, etc.

At the beginning of the school

After 15 years of painstaking efforts by Hu Jinjie, the second provincial teachers' college has begun to take shape and achieved remarkable results. It has been praised by Huang Yanpei, an educator. By the 13th year of the Republic of China, there were more than 500 school buildings, including a library and Science Museum, a collection of 15400 books, 570 instruments, 360 kinds of chemicals, 100 models, and a large number of specimens.

Educational achievements

Recalling the past, there are many outstanding people, which reflect the glory of Xiuning middle school. Among the alumni are politicians represented by Ke Qingshi, former member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee; scientists represented by Xu Genjun and Hong Deyuan, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; and many foreign experts, scholars and industrialists. After liberation, Xiuning middle school, known as "Wannan University" by many students, has a strong momentum, full of vitality and fruitful results. According to statistics, from 1950 to 1958, there were more than 700 senior high school graduates, and more than 600 were admitted to colleges and universities. The average annual college entrance examination admission rate was 81.8%, of which 94% in 1955 and 95.4% in 1958. Since the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee, more than 2300 people in Xiuning middle school have been admitted to universities, and the average annual rate of key undergraduates is more than 60%. After entering the 21st century, the whole school has strived to achieve brilliant results in the college entrance examination. From 2000 to 2006, more than 2000 students were admitted to undergraduate colleges and universities, and more than 500 of them entered key colleges and universities in China, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University and University of science and technology of China. At present, hundreds of people have obtained master's and doctoral degrees, and nearly 100 have studied in the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Australia and other countries.

Campus environment

At the beginning of its establishment, the school covers a total area of only 4.92 mu, which has been expanded to 180 mu, including 63538 m2 of campus area, 24874 m2 of paddy field area and 51153 m2 of mountain field area. Over the past 20 years, the school has raised funds from various sources and built a teaching building of 1678 m2, 2576 m2 and 4751 M2 respectively, There are five dormitory buildings with a total area of 8251 square meters, and a new Yifu science and technology building with an area of 4060 square meters has been built. According to the first-class national standard, it is equipped with physics, chemistry, biology laboratory, voice room, computer room, electronic reading room and multimedia classroom. The campus LAN has been built, and the school library with more than 160000 ancient books and modern books has been repaired, which has greatly improved the conditions for running schools. At the same time, the school rebuilt the historic meixuan Pavilion, built the Huizhou style corridor and inner wall, and built the school history museum which reappeared the ups and downs of the school. The Huizhou architecture is simple and elegant. On the resurfacing stone steps of Mount Hai, a flower garden lawn was built in front of the teaching building. The school has 37 teaching classes, with more than 2300 students, including more than 1900 resident students. The school has 148 staff, including 128 full-time teachers, 102 with bachelor's degree and 36 senior middle school teachers.
