Yangmei Zhuxie street is a street in Beijing, located in the southwest of qianmenwai, about half a kilometer west of the west entrance of Dashilan street, starting from Meishi street in the East and Yanshou street in the West. In Ming Dynasty, it was called "Xiejie" because its direction inclined from northeast to southwest.
Location
Yangmei Zhuxie street is 496 meters long, starting from Meishi street in the East and Yanshou street in the West. In Ming Dynasty, it was called "Xiejie" because its direction inclined from northeast to southwest. In the complete picture of the capital in 1750 (the 15th year of Qianlong's reign of the Qing Dynasty), it was marked as "yangmeixie Street". It is said that this is because in the early Qing Dynasty, there lived a matchmaker Yang who was good at matchmaking. During the reign of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, the homonym was changed into "Yangmei Zhuxie Street". In 1965, when Beijing reorganized the place names, Xixing Hutong (a short dead alley on the south side of Yangmei Zhuxie Street) and Yichi Street (located at the westernmost end of Yangmei Zhuxie street, between Tongzi Hutong and the north entrance of cherry hutong) were merged into Beijing.
Yangmeizhuxie street and nearby tieshuxie Street (formerly known as Li Tieguai Xie Street), cherry Xie street and zongshuxie Street (formerly known as wangguangfu Xie Street) all came out by people. After the Yuan Dynasty destroyed the Jin Dynasty, the Yuan government abandoned the capital of Jinzhong and built another capital in the East and north of Jinzhong. The T-shaped Street (near the entrance of today's Caishikou) in shirenmen, the capital of Jinzhong, is a prosperous market. The commerce of the newly-built capital city of Yuan Dynasty has not yet developed, so many people in the capital city go to the capital city to buy what they need. Out of the main entrance of the metropolis (now Zhengyangmen) to the southwest to the T-shaped street, people gradually walk out of a road from the northeast to the southwest, which is the origin of these oblique streets.
Japan's "Beijing case" a Book: "in the eight hutongs, known as eight thousand prostitutes." After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the government ordered to ban prostitutes. The former prostitutes began a new life after studying, training and treating diseases.
