Cuogao Township, gongbujiangda County, Linzhi City, Tibet Autonomous Region governs the administrative village.

Village Architecture

Cuogao village is a complete village with half wood, half stone and all stone structures of Tibetan traditional dwellings. The dwellings in the village are built with local wood and stone, mortise and tenon structure, and almost all have a history of more than 100 years or even hundreds of years.

Local villagers follow the traditional construction method of Gongbu Tibetan, and use wood and stone to build according to local conditions. Firewood is piled on the stone courtyard wall, and the spacious courtyard can not only stack grass but also raise livestock. Zigzag alleys meander between the courtyard walls, leading to manilacan, Mani stone piles and prayer flag pillars scattered all over the village, stringing the footprints of villagers praying, turning scriptures and worshiping. These religious sites and the surrounding snow mountains and sacred lakes, as well as the ancient myths handed down by the villagers from generation to generation, constitute a rich spiritual world for the Tibetans of the Ministry of industry, and the fertile pastures and wetlands provide them with enough living space to rely on. In 2014, the Ministry of housing and urban rural development of the people's Republic of China and the State Administration of cultural relics announced the Sixth Batch of famous historical and cultural towns (villages) in China. History and culture

Cuogao village is a traditional ancient village with Tibetan characteristics, with 48 ancient dwellings. It is the only village in the Ministry of industry that has completely maintained the layout, architectural style, custom culture and belief of traditional villages of Gongbu Tibetan nationality.

The stem dance in cuogao village is a very special performance, mainly praying for a good harvest of food, blessing health and family happiness.

In 2008, cuogaogeng dance was listed on the intangible cultural heritage list of Tibet Autonomous Region.
