Sangzhou Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Ninghai County, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the southwest corner of the county. It is the South Gate of Ningbo City. It connects Chalu town and Qiantong town in the north, surrounded by Taizhou City in the East, West and South: Shaliu street of Sanmen County in the East, Haiyou street and Zhuao town of Sanmen County in the south, hongchou town and Yongxi township of Tiantai County in the West. The town covers an area of 61.67 square kilometers.

Historical evolution

Sangzhou village was built in the Eastern Jin Dynasty.

During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Sangzhou was under the jurisdiction of Taizhou, with a station, known as sangzhouyi.

During the period of the Republic of China, there were district offices and police stations in Sangzhou, covering huxiuling, tongyanling in the south, Shaliu in Dongao in the East and Tiantai in Xinchang in the West.

From July 1949 to January 1950, Xiuyu township was located in Southwest China.

In 1950, it was renamed Sangzhou Township, belonging to Chalu district. With the establishment of political power, Sangzhou township was divided into Sangzhou, Yudong and Yunan in order to develop production and carry out land reform.

In 1956, the three townships were merged into Sangzhou township.

In November 1958, Sangzhou Township, ma'ao Township and wang'ai Township were collectively called Sangzhou people's commune, with three administrative areas under its jurisdiction.

In November 1961, the large commune was abolished and divided into small communes. The three administrative areas were divided into three communes, and the Sangzhou commune belonged to Chalu district.

In December 1968, the commune reform committee was established, and then the management committee was changed.

In October 1983, it was renamed Sangzhou township.

In May 1984, Sangzhou was approved as an established town.
