Dalong Lake

Dalonghu was formerly known as Dalongkou reservoir. Ponds are scattered around the dam body in the west, South and East. The shape of the original reservoir is regular. There are stone revetments in the northwest, southwest and East, and natural soil banks in the northeast. In order to improve the ecological environment of Xuzhou new urban area, the planning and construction of dalonghu scenic area has been started since 2004 with Dalongkou reservoir as the main body. In 2005, the earth works were completed to divide the area; in 2006, the revetment project was completed to optimize and adjust the lake shoreline; in 2008, the landscape greening project of Dalong Lake scenic area was fully completed.

Dalong lake was formed in September 1623, the third year of Tianqi in Ming Dynasty. The Yellow River burst its dyke in Dalongkou, Qingtian Town, Southeast Xuzhou.

The original water surface area of Dalongkou reservoir is 1.2 square kilometers. After reconstruction, the water surface area of Dalong Lake reaches 2 square kilometers, and the original surface reservoir is transformed into an artificial lake with a water depth of 3 meters. Together with the surrounding landscape greening, it covers an area of 4.5 square kilometers and becomes the ecological core of the new urban area.

Dalong lake and shundihe landscape belt are located in the center of Xuzhou New District, adjacent to Tuolong mountain in the west, Yingbin Avenue in the south, and the leading development area of Xuzhou New District in the East and Southeast. Yubi public activity area and Yuhuang culture exhibition area are located in the north of the Lake District, covering an area of more than 30 hectares. The design scheme focuses on the three cultures of ecology, rock and the old course of the Yellow River, and takes ecology as the theme to create a waterfront green space in the center of a large city with the four functions of leisure, fitness, recreation and cultural exchange organically integrated. The three ecological islands show the artistic conception of "island in the lake, Lake in the island" with different ecological methods. Dalong Lake scenic area is the natural oxygen bar and the most important place for tourism and leisure in the new urban area.
