Basic introduction
Introduction to Tzu Chi jingshe
Master Zheng Yan, a thin and weak woman and a self-cultivation person, leads many believers to carry forward the ultimate concern of human nature and devote themselves to the social service work of poverty relief, emergency relief and disease relief.
Although he is responsible for all his life, he can't see the vicissitudes of life. The quiet and solemn face, set off by the broad gray monk's robe, is more and more bleak, and the parallel eyes are so steady, warm and resolute. Master Zheng Yan, with his great wish of loving and giving up, made great efforts to save the poor and the needy, and created an eternal cause of helping people in Eastern Taiwan.
Since 1966, under his guidance, the "Buddhist charity for overcoming difficulties" has been formed by the first 30 believers who have saved 50 cents a day. After three or eighteen years of baptism, it has miraculously developed into a huge charity with more than four million members. Such a local Buddhist charity in Taiwan, seemingly insignificant, has created many touching deeds in the past thirty-eight years. Tzu Chi's ten million Taoists show more influence. One day, they donate one yuan to their children, some donate monthly to their families, and some donate ten million yuan to their enterprises every year!
Tzu Chi's volunteer activities include charity, medical care, education and culture, which are collectively referred to as "four major volunteer activities"; in addition, it has invested in bone marrow donation, environmental protection, community volunteers and international disaster relief, which are promoted at the same time, which is called "one step eight footprint".
The internationalization of Philanthropy: domestic long-term poor care, emergency relief, home care, international disaster relief... Based on Taiwan, looking to the world, with great love to go to the global village, hoping that there will be no disaster in the world.
Universalization of medical ambition: regional hospitals, bone marrow database, children's development and rehabilitation center, nursing home, mountain area and outlying island free clinic,... Respect each unique life, Tzu Chi medical network, let each family have peace of mind as the backing!
Complete educational ambition -- make fertile soil with love, pay equal attention to both ability and function; kindergartens, primary schools, middle schools, universities, research institutes... Tzu Chi seriously cultivates the next generation.
The deepening of cultural ambition -- community service, institutional care, environmental protection... Tzu Chi volunteers, clear the way for a peaceful society! Magazines, books, radio, television, the Internet, etc., and Tzu Chi's cultural ambitions are pioneering efforts to purify people's hearts.
Other information
Among the four sufferings of life, illness is the most bitter. Tzu Chi has accumulated more than ten years of experience in saving the poor and found that "disease is the root of pain and the origin of poverty". In order to solve the problem thoroughly, the master made a wish to build a Tzu Chi Hospital in Hualien. After seven years of running and calling, he had a hard time. As the master described, "if the painstaking efforts are tangible, every brick is made with painstaking efforts.".
Tzu Chi Hospital was officially opened on August 17, 1986. It adheres to the concept of "respecting life" and implements "patient-centered" medical care in Huadong area. Due to the continuous improvement of medical quality and service quality, it has become the evacuation hospital in Huadong area. In May 1999, it was promoted to be the first "quasi medical center" in Huadong, and passed the international certification in March 2000. It is the only medical center that has passed the certification among the 18 medical centers in China. With excellent hardware and famous doctors invited from all over the country, it provides powerful medical services for the lives of the eastern people.
Located on Central Road, the Tzu Chi Cultural Park includes the Tzu Chi Medical Center, the Jingsi hall, the Jingsi bamboo Pavilion and the Tzu Chi University Park. It shows the spirit of Tzu Chi's Master Cheng Yan's dedication to the four major causes of charity, medical care, education and culture. Standing in this exquisite and elegant space, one can appreciate the world without the noise of cars and horses.
Located on the right side of Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital, the Tzu Chi meditation hall presents the spirit of Tzu Chi people's "no chance to be merciful" and "one body to be merciful", and preserves the historical footprints of Tzu Chi. The construction of the hall was started on August 17, 1986. The main design includes a 13 story high lecture hall, Tzu Chi Daolu square, fahua ramp, international conference hall, Thanksgiving hall, Tzu Chi world and Buddhist relics Exhibition room, religious library, historical materials library, sutra Pavilion, lookout tower.
Tzu Chi Jingsi hall is a museum of Tzu Chi history. It remembers how a bhiksuni, who grew up in Taiwan since 1966, combined people from all walks of life, ethnic groups, nationalities and beliefs to practice the true meaning of compassion and carry forward the great love of mankind.
