Cuifeng Temple

Cuifeng, there are three peaks: DiCui, Cuiwei and Cuigai. The highest part of Cuifeng is 1087 meters above sea level. Ditui peak is like a three-story building with big top and small bottom. It is also called shangcui peak, xiacui peak and Zhongcui peak.

Tianzhu nunnery: Cuifeng temple in front of the peak, formerly known as "Tianzhu nunnery", was not demolished and rebuilt under Tianzhu peak in the Tang Dynasty. During the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, the famous monk Yue Xia and others came from Hubei Province and founded Huayan University in the temple to teach Huayan Sutra of Dafang Guangfo. The famous monk Xu Yun was a Buddhist monk at that time. More than 30 or 40 official monks from Huayan university came to attend the lectures. All the "four disciples" who are willing to listen to the scriptures can attend as nonvoting delegates.

Cuifeng Temple

Cuifeng temple is located in Cuifeng mountain Ao, south of Fengxiang village, Keyan street, Keqiao District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province.

Looking south, Cuifeng mountain behind the temple, together with Hushan mountain in the East and Mantou mountain in the west, forms a huge green screen, reflecting the millennium old temple. During their seclusion, uncle Xiang Yu was sheltered by local villagers, secretly gathered strength, recruited soldiers and horses, and recruited 3000 Jiangdong children, which laid the foundation for future achievements. In memory of Xiang Yu, later generations changed their name to Xiang Li village, which is the village where today's Cuifeng temple is located.

Step into the Mountain Gate of Cuifeng temple, between the free life pool and Tianwang hall is a piece of Guilin. In October, osmanthus is in full bloom and fragrant. In Cuifeng temple, there are three main halls: Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall and Yuantong hall. Under the background of ancient trees, they are magnificent and even more extraordinary. On the central passage of Guilin, an ancient stele stands out, nearly two meters high and about one meter wide. It is engraved with the inscription "rebuilding the stele of Cuifeng Temple". Only by meditating and pursuing goodness can we achieve eternity.

Temple History

According to the ancient steles left in the temple and other relevant information, the history of gucuifeng temple can be traced back to Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, which was the old foundation given up by the king of Wu and Yue. In the Southern Song Dynasty, in the fifth year of shaoding, the temple was built by Zen master Daoyi, the founder of Naixing Zen master.

For thousands of years, the ancient temple has gone through many vicissitudes. The temple was destroyed in the war at the end of Song Dynasty and rebuilt in Ming Dynasty. It became the site of empress Qian's house. There are 25 houses, a pool at the west gate, a few Zhangs in Fangguang and a temple in Zhulin.

During the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty, the Buddhist show of the temple was revived. On the left side of the main hall was built Huanshan tower, and on the right side was built Huayan Pavilion. The corridor is the back hall, built against the mountains, shaded by trees and singing birds.
