It is located in fuguijiao, the northernmost corner of Taiwan.
Originally known as Fuji Kok lighthouse, the tower was built in 1896 in Guangxu 22nd year. It was purchased from Tanshui resident Lin Wande in Sany, 570 square meters. All the building materials were shipped to Taiwan by Japanese ships. The tower was made by Tanaka iron factory in Tokyo. The tower was completed in 1897 in Guangxu 23th year. The tower is made of octagonal iron, 30 meters high and painted in black and white Parallel alternate stripes, equipped with second-class triple core kerosene lamp, white fixed light, light power of 300 to 500 candlelight, the year before the people's Republic of China (1911) refitted kerosene white heat lamp, light power increased to about 170 to 600 candlelight.
It was renamed fuguijiao lighthouse in the 16th year of the Republic of China. In the 19th year of the Republic of China, it was replaced with a white Dayton light lamp, which was on for five seconds and off for five seconds. The light power was 19000 candlelight.
It was destroyed in the Second World War, and the tower was also corroded. It was demolished in the Republic of China in 1993. Instead, it was temporarily replaced by a square steel tower. It was equipped with a fifth grade DC lamp, which was still on for five seconds and off for five seconds every ten seconds.
In 1951, it was rebuilt into an octagonal concrete tower. It was still black and white with parallel stripes. It was replaced by a small third-class rotating lens electric lamp. The white light flashed two times a second, and the light power was 1, 500, 000 candlelight.
In the year of the Republic of China, a Class-A radio beacon was added, with an output power of 300 watts and a range of 200 Li. It was combined with Keelung radio beacon for positioning.
In the 1970s, an electric fog horn was added.
The tower is equipped with walkie talkies.
