Moon Lake in Tengger Desert

Moon Lake, located in Alxa Left Banner, Alxa League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is a natural lake in Tengger Desert. Local herdsmen call it "Moon Lake" and "China Lake", because the lake looks like a curved moon from the East, quietly telling ancient stories, and from the sand dunes in the west, it looks like a map of China, magnificent.

The lawn on the shore of Moon Lake is like a blanket. The water is rippling and waterfowls play. Around the lake, there are many shrubs and grasses, such as flower stick, Caragana korshinskii, Calligonum mongolicum, Haloxylon ammodendron, etc. rare white swans, yellow white ducks, mallard ducks and so on live here in groups. Swans and other migratory birds come here every March, April and September.

It's also a good place for desert exploration. There are off-road vehicles in the scenic area that can lead tourists into the center of the desert (the cost of off-road vehicles needs to be paid separately, about 200 yuan / person). When the off-road vehicle is driving in the sand dune, it will rush up the sand dune at a very fast speed, and then rush down at a high speed. Tourists must fasten their seat belts in the vehicle and hold the handle tightly with both hands to avoid being thrown out of the vehicle. If the carsick tourists are very serious, they don't need to consider this amusement project.

In addition, tourists can ride camels and participate in camping barbecue in the scenic area. The black sand mud in the Moon Lake is rich in a variety of minerals and trace elements. It is a good skin bath product. Tourists who are interested can try the "black sand mud bath" here.

Drive 38.5km to the destination (on the left side of the road) Tengger Moon Lake.
