Lintianshan forestry culture park
Lintianshan forest farm, located in Fenglin Township, Hualien County, used to be the fourth largest forest farm in Taiwan. It was once known as "Taiwan juniper town". It is the most complete and unique logging base left over from Taiwan. No matter its scale or importance, the Japanese began to reclaim lintianshan area as early as the early days of Japanese occupation, and started large-scale logging operations here in 1938. It was not until 1991, when Taiwan's policy of banning the felling of natural trees was implemented, that the logging operations in lintianshan were officially stopped. Over the past decade, the forest work stations have been merged one after another, and the former prosperous scene of Lintian mountain has gradually disappeared into a silent and declining small mountain city. Although in 1972, there was a heavy forest fire in Lintian mountain, which lasted for a month, causing heavy losses to the collection and transportation equipment at the logging site. However, after a long period of time, the ancient style of the villa still appears. The cypress houses and old railways left on the hillside still exude a touching humanistic atmosphere in the long history. In recent years, with the joint efforts of the forestry bureau and local cultural and historical workers, a lot of cultural resources have been preserved for Lintian mountain. In the exhibition hall of Lintian mountain's forestry cultural relics, there are many cultural relics of daily life, traditional fire-fighting equipment, various kinds of logging tools, and most of the pictures and books, all of which can witness the past history of Lintian mountain.
