development history
"China Construction Society" is a non-governmental academic group founded by Mr. Zhu Qiqian in Beijing in 1930, which specializes in the research and protection of Chinese traditional architecture, including architectural techniques and norms. There are two groups of "Chinese construction society", namely, the French style group and the literature group, which are respectively presided over by Liang Sicheng and Liu Dunzhen. After the outbreak of the Anti Japanese War, due to the gradual invasion of the Japanese army into the mainland, the "China Construction Society" was forced to move southward and traveled through Wuhan, Changsha and Kunming. In 1940, at the invitation of people from all walks of life in Lizhuang, which cherishes the great national interests, "China Construction Society", together with national Tongji University, Academia Sinica, Jinling University and the Central Museum, moved to Lizhuang, a historic town in Nanxi County at that time. It was not until 1946, after the victory of the Anti Japanese War, that the "China Construction Society" moved back to Beijing and co founded the Institute of Chinese architecture with Tsinghua University.
According to the relevant information, during the six years in Lizhuang, the "China Construction Society" had very difficult funds and living conditions. However, Liang Sicheng, Liu Dunzhen, Lin Huiyin, Liu Zhiping, Mo Zongjiang, Chen Mingda, Luo Zhewen and other sages in the field of architectural history and cultural relics protection in China have done a lot of fruitful research work here and completed a large number of scientific research achievements, including They include: compiling the first complete and systematic history of Chinese architecture in China; designing Tengwang Pavilion in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province; compiling Guanghan county annals by using urban planning and other methods, creating a new example of county annals revision in China; participating in the archaeological excavation of the Central Museum and publishing journals.
